“Then go back to sleep.” Liam rolled over and pinned her with his naked hips and torso. “Or did you have another idea?”

She didn’t know whether it was the sound of his voice or the way his muscular physique held her in place, but Liam cast her worry and wonders away. She heated for his touch, and before a semi-intelligent response passed her lips, he managed to flip her on top of him with deft ease. Chelsea perched, naked and coverless, on his chest. “Liam!”

His gaze smoldered, and his lips curled up into a test-me smile. “You know what I learned about you?”

“What?” She lowered her chest to his and rested her cheek against his shoulder.

He stroked his fingers slowly down her spine then back up and played with her loose hair.

“Tell me,” she whispered.

“I thought you were competitive.”

Chelsea popped up. “I am.”

His hands clasped behind her back, and Liam pulled her close again. “You’re ambitious.”

“I can be both.”

“I guess so, but I see your ambition, and I admire that more.”

Her chest squeezed. “Thanks.”

“We make a good team because I can anticipate problems, but you plan for the future.” He wrapped a lock of her hair around his finger.

“That’s not the same thing?” she asked.

“Not really.” He let the hair release.

“Did you anticipate this?” Because she had no idea how to map their future.

“No,” he said.

“I never planned anything in my personal life,” she admitted. Her only focus had been fueled by Zee Zee Mars. Chelsea didn’t know how the future would look without a fugitive to dedicate her life to finding. Maybe she figured that one day, everything would slip into place because she’d captured Zee Zee.Would that change who I am? Would it change how Liam saw me?Anxiety cooled the hot flash of desire. “Maybe I’m sleepy after all.”

He groaned. “I’ll have to work on my moves. I didn’t think you’d opt for some Zs.”

“That’s not it!”

“Kidding. Sorta.” He winked. “But from here on out, let’s keep twenty questions until after we get out of bed.”

She held up her hand as though offering God’s honest truth. “Thatwasan impressive move.”

Liam tucked her back to where they first started when he wanted to sleep. “Stick around, Sunshine. I have a couple more that I can share.”
