Her voice was playful and coy, the phantom prickle of her plumes drawing across my skin. “Come and find me.”

“You don’t know what you’re about to start…” I warned, with a low growl.

She looked over her shoulder and arched a wicked brow at me. “Is that a promise, Death?”

“Anywhere you go, I will follow.” I nodded at her. “Now get going. When I find you, I will take you beneath the stars.”

“You can take me anywhere, Death. So long as I’m yours.”

“Always, Songbird. Always.”

And with that, she took to the sky.
