That’s one thing that drew me to this place. The sense of family that trickles from the leadership at the top all the way to the very bottom.

Walker takes care of sorting the tip jar, giving me everything inside, despite he and Garreth being here and jumping in if I needed help. “Have a good night,” he insists as I grab my backpack and head for the rear entrance.

“I will. You guys too,” I holler, pushing the door open and stepping into the hot, summer sun.

My mind instantly goes to Caden. I’ve never been to his place before. Not only am I excited to see where he lives but what he has planned for dinner. Living by myself for a while, I don’t really cook or grill out very often. I prefer simple, easy meals for one like soups, grilled cheese sandwiches, and pasta dishes. I find myself ridiculously excited to eat dinner.

And something tells me I won’t be the only one “eating.” I’m certain Caden will have all sorts of dirty activities planned for after dinner.

But first, I have a piercing appointment to get to.

Chapter Fifteen

Caden

The moment she pulls into my driveway, my heart starts to pound with excitement. I place the steaks on the platter and coat them with seasoning as a knock sounds at the front door. “Come on in,” I holler, needing to wash my hands before I touch anything.

She steps inside the living room and glances around. “This place is nice.”

“Thanks. It’s an older home, built in the fifties, but I like it,” I tell her, offering a small smile.

Adrienne places her backpack on the floor beside my leather couch and kicks off her flip-flops. Her toes are painted bright pink with a little ring around the middle one on the left foot. Her legs are on full display, thanks to a pair a cutoff shorts, and she’s wearing a navy-blue tank top that hugs her frame—and her glorious tits—to perfection.

“You changed,” I notice, turning on the faucet and waiting for the hot water to flow.

“I did. I finished up my appointment with BJ and ran home to change. I smelled like cheeseburgers and beer.”

I can’t help but smile. “Two of my favorites.”

Once my hands are clean, I head to where she stands. My eyesight is good, but now that I’m close, I can see the sparkle on the side of her nose. My dick jumps in my shorts as blood swirls through my veins. The moment I reach her side, I lift my hand and cup her jaw gently. I move her face so I can get a better view of her new jewelry.

“What do you think?” she asks, but immediately I know. She’s not asking because she’s concerned about my reaction or my feelings. Hell no. This woman would have done exactly this, whether I was a fan or not. She did it forher, and that’s a huge fucking turn-on.

“I think it makes you look even more sexy than you already were,” I tell her honestly, earning me a smile.

“I really like it,” she beams back at me.

“Good. Your opinion is the only one that matters,” I remind, leaning forward and pressing a gentle kiss to the tip of her nose.

“BJ says it might be red for a bit yet, but it should be fine by the wedding Saturday.”

I wave off her concern. “I wouldn’t care if your whole face was tomato-red.”

She barks out a laugh. “Well, I would. That would be embarrassing. And I’m supposed to be the new woman, there to remind the dumb one what she’s missing.”

I can’t help but smile. “I could not care less about her,” I state, knowing in my heart it is the truth. I really don’t care about Dawn or the lies she told. Not anymore. Somewhere between the pain of betrayal and now, the sting of recollection started to lessen. It felt…good.

“So…my nose wasn’t the only piercing I received today,” she says casually, the hint of a smirk curling her lips.

“No?” I ask, my eyes sliding down her entire body like a caress. I watch as her nipples pebble hard under my gaze, and a bubble of disappointment pops in my chest when I don’t see any signs of a piercing there.

“I can tell you’re disappointed,” she says with a chuckle.

“The thought of your glorious tits with a bar or hoop through the nipples is wet dream invoking,” I confess.

“Well, it’s one I’m still considering in the near future. Turns out, I rather enjoyed getting pierced today,” she says, taking a step back and walking into the kitchen. I follow behind, like a dog chasing a bone, tongue wagging with anticipation.

“I think I’ll do one of my nipples next,” she claims pointedly with a shrug.
