“Love you more, my boy.” And then she’s gone, heading out to the dance floor just as the Chicken Dance begins.
“Ready?” I ask, giving Adrienne my full attention.
Her smile is seductive. “For the horizontal dancing part of our night? Oh, I’m ready.”
Chapter Eighteen
Adrienne
“Sorry to have to change locations for tonight on you, but with my dad and Mel crashing at my house, I didn’t want to take you there while he and his flavor of the week are staying,” Caden says as we drive toward my townhouse.
“It’s fine,” I reassure him a second time. After he got the phone call from his dad earlier in the week, he told me about his visitors. I think he was prepared to just cancel our night altogether, so I suggested we just move it to my place.
The part we haven’t really discussed is what will happen…after. After the sex, will he stay? He’s never stayed before, except that singular time we didn’t actually sleep together. Well, we slept together, as in the same bed, but we didn’t have sex. That was the night I fell and he crashed on my couch, insisting to wake me every three hours to ensure I didn’t die in my sleep from a concussion. I remember inviting him to just climb into bed beside me. My couch is uncomfortable and on the smaller side for a man of his stature.
I can recall perfectly the feel of waking with him wrapped around me. His arms held me close to his chest, and his legs were entwined with my own. The crazy part was, despite not having woken up with a man in more than a year, I didn’t hate it. In fact, it was quite the opposite.
I liked it a lot.
After the horizontal dancing, will he stay? I’m game if he does, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it if he doesn’t. He does have company at his own house, so he may prefer to head home so he’s there when they wake in the morning.
He pulls into the small lot in front of the row of townhouses and parks beside my car. Without a word, he climbs from the driver’s seat and meets me at the passenger door. With his hand extended toward me, helping me from the SUV and to my front door. Using my key, I release the lock and step inside.
“Make yourself comfortable,” I say, anxious to get out of my red heels.
He drapes his jacket over one of my kitchen chairs and holds out his hand. “Come’ere.”
Ignoring the protest of my achy feet, I take three steps until I’m standing directly in front of him. “Here?”
His big hand wraps around my waist as he draws me closer. Our bodies press together, and I can feel everything. His muscular thighs and his hard cock. “Here,” he states, flexing his hips just a touch. “I had a great time tonight.”
A small grin flicks across my lips. “Me too.”
“Sorry our night out was at my ex’s wedding,” he adds with a chuckle.
I can’t help but laugh. “That was definitely an unusual circumstance, but I did have a good time. Your gram is a hoot, and I enjoyed getting to know her.”
“She likes you,” he says, lightly tapping his fingers on my hip.
“She had some great stories,” I tease, recalling how uncomfortable he got when Gram and Scarlet started sharing tales from his youth.
“You can forget everything they told you tonight. They’re both liars.”
I giggle at his response and shake my head. “Somehow, I suspect everything they told me to be true.”
He dips his head and trails open-mouthed kisses along my collarbone. “Enough talking about my family. I’ve had my fill of the chaos for one night. Tonight, I want to get lost in your body.”
I mewl as he nibbles on my flesh. “Keep talking.”
“I’m going to strip this gorgeous dress from your delectable body and have my wicked way with you. I’m going to make you come no less than three times, Adrienne. Are you game?”
“Yes,” I whisper without hesitation.
Flicking the lock on my door and leading me up the stairs to my bedroom, he instructs, “Let’s go.”

“Tell me something no one knows.”
