Loca was Ricky. Because, you know, Ricky Martin? Yes, I know he’s a boy and it should have been Loco. This stuff isn’t supposed to make sense.

Paulie swore that Ricky always got a hard-on whenever that song came on.

As for our call names, Sundance bought himself this bike to go into town when we were off duty. He was hammered this one night—a girl broke up with him—and the dipshit didn’t get a cab. He took his bike.

Anyway, he went ass over head into this stream near our base. He was damn lucky I’d gone for a run because I found him before he nearly drowned. I dragged him out of the water, and the only way I could get him home was to shove his ass in the basket and hope he wouldn’t fall out.

Unfortunately for me, Jax and Loca spotted us on base as we wobbled through the gates.

We must have looked like a less romantic version of that, lol, and the goddamn call names stuck. (Lesson for the wise: never do anyone a favor on base before you’ve earned your call names.)
