Phoebe stood up along with Blake and walked over, sighing loudly. “You are, but we’re donating any swear money from this weekend to the charity you picked.”

Baron hugged Phoebe and Blake, dropping kisses on their heads. “You heard the girls. If you want to be able to swear as much as you want this weekend, pay Phoebe or Blake, who will be standing by Phoebe’s mom, Winnie, twenty bucks. If you choose not to, every time they catch you, you’ll owe a dollar. It’s for a good cause, or you know I wouldn’t care what cuss words you said. Now back to the rules. Rascal, the courts were your idea, so why don’t you take over.”

Rascal took the microphone from Baron. “All right. Rule number four, this is for fun and bragging rights. Let’s keep bloodshed to a minimum. First prize was donated by Franks and Daughters Bail Bonds. It includes two round-trip tickets to a destination of your choice in the continental US, along with a thousand dollars spending money. Second wins five hundred dollars donated by the Saint’s Outlaws President Pit and his barbecue joint. Third place wins two hundred and fifty dollars donated by Nelson’s Honkytonk Saloon and Bar. Fourth through last win nothing. Don’t be those teams.

“Now, let’s get started. Court assignments for the first match are posted. Pick up the balls from the scoring table. If you have not paid your entry fee, you cannot play. Let’s have some fun and raise some money.”

Remi laughed at Halligan and Dex taunting War and Scoop, who were playing against them. Once they were assigned to court one, she hoisted herself up and picked up her chair to move. She needed to be able to cheer on her man.

She passed court two, where Ellie and Elijah, her son, were going to be playing against Slice and Deborah, his adopted daughter. Remi loved that she and War were having a baby, but she couldn’t wait until she wasn’t pregnant. She planned on teaching Deborah so many self-defense moves. Although she could see Deborah starting to gain a little confidence and come out of her shell, learning self-defense would give her a different type of confidence. Faith and the boys were sitting on the sidelines wearing Team Grimes T-shirts.

Darn it!She and Sprite should have figured out cool shirts to promote their men’s team.

Unfolding her chair, she settled down in her seat, then realized she had to pee. Seriously! How could she not have thought of that before sitting down? She started to hoist herself up, and then a hand was there to help her.

Peck, Whiskey, Schaefer, and Hennessy’s dad, helped her up.

“You doin’ okay, darlin’?” he asked.

“Yes, just needing to visit the bathroom again because of War’s Spawn,” she grumbled, walking toward the restrooms.

“I’m sure War’s appreciative of all you do, but since he’s getting ready to play and can’t take care of you, why don’t you tell me what you’d like to drink and a snack. I’ll grab it for you, and then we can walk back together.”

She nodded. “Thanks, Peck. I’d love an unsweetened iced tea along with one of the brats with sauerkraut.”

“Ketchup or mustard?” he asked.

“Both, please, but no onions. Spawn doesn’t like me eating raw onions,” she said.

He nodded and got in the concessions line.

He and his brothers were the sweetest, and it hurt her heart that they were alone. Well, she was sure they probably found companionship, but they deserved what she and War had, along with so many others.

Now that she thought about it, Stella was available since Stella wasn’t dating Locks. By the looks of it, Remi’s dad was off the market permanently, even if Hope didn’t have a cut or an engagement ring.

She finished in the bathroom and then walked out to Peck waiting on her, chatting with his brother Burt, who turned as she walked up.

“Remi, you are glowing. Pregnancy agrees with you. I can’t wait to see the fierce boy or girl that you and War raise,” he said.

“Thanks, Burt.”

“I’m heading over to keep an eye on McClure and Schaefer. I’m concerned it might get a little bloody,” Burt said.

“McClure? But he’s usually even-tempered,” Remi said.

“McClure’s ex-girlfriend is playing against them with her new boy toy, who she cheated with while she was dating McClure. I know he won’t do anything to her because I taught him better, but the new boyfriend is fair game,” Burt said and walked away.

Remi sat down, and then Peck handed her snacks, taking the lawn chair next to her.

“The President and his sidekick are going down,” Halligan yelled.

Dex rolled his eyes. “He’s my president too, dude. Let’s let our skills speak for themselves.”

Halligan shook his head and patted Dex’s shoulder. “We so need to loosen you up, man.”

Remi laughed along with everyone else near them. She’d love War to win, but honestly, listening to Dex and Halligan made her want them to win so they could go on. Though if they lost, they could challenge to get back in from the losers’ bracket. She was positive if War and Scoop lost, that the guys would definitely be challenging them. Despite watching the matches, she kept her eyes peeled for any issues.

It bothered her that the cameras hadn’t picked up anything else from where Baron was hit. It was a puzzle, and none of the Franks sisters liked a puzzle they couldn’t solve.
