I rush over and look over their shoulders.
SharSpy10 [4:23PM]:What about you, what do you do as a hobby?
“What do we say, gege?” Eleanor asks in faux panic. “You have no hobbies outside of gaming!”
I roll my eyes at her. “Thanks. Um, tell her I like working out with the guys?” The mention of my school friends makes me a bit sad. I’m not close to any of them because my family considers most close friendships to be a bit of a liability. We never know when someone might betray us for attention or money, so I don’t really have close friends. But I do miss my gym buddies.
Papa shakes his head again. “No girl wants to hear that. Tell her he likes to do homework. Mathematics.”
“Wait—”
Eleanor types at lightning speed. For a girl who’s never owned a phone, she is suspiciously adept at typing on one.
CuriousGeorge [4:24PM]:Calculus.
Great. Just great. If SharSpy didn’t suspect anything before, she sure as hell will now. Or at the very least, she’ll think I’m the world’s biggest nerd. Actually, that’s not a bad thing. Maybe it’ll turn her off so much, she’ll ghost me. Huh. I should’ve just let them run with it. No girl in her right mind would fall for the version of me they’re creating online. I almost laugh out loud at how quickly this whole inane ploy has been shut down.
Three dots appear next to SharSpy’s name. Here it comes. She’s going to tell “me” that I’m a loser. My chest squeezes with anticipation.
SharSpy10 [4:25PM]:Wow. You are perfect.
Like I said, no girlin her right mindwould fall for the version of me they’ve created online.
June 8
SharSpy10 [2:18PM]:I just think WHY? Why is it that so many girls my age they don’t like to cook? And not only they don’t like it, but they think it’s like something to be proud of, you know?
CuriousGeorge [2:19PM]:Yes, exactly! Same like boys my age, they think not knowing what they want to do in life is something to be proud of!
SharSpy10 [2:20PM]:This is a very strange generation, very strange.
CuriousGeorge [2:21PM]:Oh yes, so strange. You know, back in my parents’ times, things make a lot more sense. The boys know they have to work hard so they can provide for their family.
SharSpy10 [2:22PM]:Yes! And the girls know they have to learn to cook well so they can feed their children when they get marry.
CuriousGeorge [2:24PM]:It’s like you are reading my mind!

CuriousGeorge [2:36PM]:Yes, so this app I design is name OneLiner.
SharSpy10 [2:37PM]:Ugh, don’t tell me, is it like to pick up girls?
CuriousGeorge [2:38PM]:Oh no! Actually it is the opposite! It is to teach boys how to treat girls right.
SharSpy10 [2:39PM]:Oh, you mean like how to be gentleman?
CuriousGeorge [2:40PM]:Yes, exactly! Because nowadays boys are so hopeless, you know. They not know how to treat girls right, make them feel like special treasure, you know.
SharSpy10 [2:42PM]:Yes, I feel the same way.
CuriousGeorge [2:42PM]:I think is so important for boys to make girls know they are precious, need to be treated very carefully.
SharSpy10 [2:43PM]:Yes, definitely. Wah, I am so surprise, George. You are like modern-day gentleman. It’s so rare nowadays. You are such a good boy. This is so rad!
CuriousGeorge [2:44PM]:Ha-ha-ha, aduh, no, no. You flatterme.
