“Fuck off, Holt.” The growling, angry male voice stroked her soul.

She’d know Mooky’s voice anywhere.

Hesitating to look over her shoulder, Blue felt far too dizzy for this to be real. She’d heard he’d come home, but how the hell did he know where to find her? She cut her gaze to Stella, who just glowered at Dylan.

Okay, was it her who’d blabbed? Stella hadn’t had time. Blue had been with her all day. Clients had come in back-to-back. No, it couldn’t have been.

Blue whirled around. “We are fine, thank you.”

Sounding confident through slurred speech was difficult. She thought she’d pulled it off.

Mooky cocked his head to the side.

Or not.

“See, the ladies are having fun.” Dylan had come around to Blue’s side and slid his arm around her waist.

She stiffened. Her eyes locked on Mooky’s.

Red, furious fire blazed behind his brown irises.

Stella leaned in close to Blue and whispered. “You okay?”

No. Absolutely not.

Neither guy should be there with her. And Dylandefinitelyshouldn’t be touching her.Fuck! How had she gotten there?

Blue swallowed, finding her throat dry as the Sahara, despite all the booze she’d spilled down it that evening. Her brain screamed to shake her head no, but her heart won, and she nodded.

It was Mooky. He’d never hurt her or put her in danger.

“Let’s go.” Mooky reached for her.

She leaned toward him.

However, Dylan intercepted and shoved at Mooky’s forearm while pulling her toward him.

What in the what? Oh, no. He did not.

Blue’s eyes widened. There wasn’t room for her to get out of the way. The bar was at her back, Mooky in front of her, Dylan on one side, and Stella on the other with barstools everywhere in between. She couldn’t go anywhere or do anything.

It felt like slow motion. Mooky’s fist soared through the air and connected with Dylan’s jaw. As Dylan jerked away from her, his grip fell.

The cracking sound could’ve been bone breaking or joints in his neck popping. She couldn’t tell. The music was just loud enough to confuse her.

The margaritas didn’t help.

Blue brought her hands to her gaping mouth as she gasped in surprise.

Stella gripped onto her arm. “Oh my God! Let’s go!”

Blue couldn’t move. Thankfully, Stella could, and she yanked Blue from between the two men.

“You motherfucker! You just assaulted an officer.” Dylan held his face as he stumbled.

A cop? What the fuck?Blue’s mind raced.

Her friend tugged, pulling her off-balance.
