“He’s fucked,” I tell her with a groan.
Sin frowns. “He’sfucked? More like she is. He’s been groping her all night.”
So she did notice. “She hasn’t complained from what I could tell.”
“Because she’s drunk.”
“And why aren’t you? I’ve seen you drinking your fair share of rum and Cokes all evening.”
“There’s no rum in here.” She rattles the ice in her glass.
“Bullshit.”
“Try it.” She holds the glass out to me and I take a sip from the skinny straw. And no, I don’t care that I saw her lips wrapped around it earlier. That doesn’t matter whatsoever. She’s right—it’s just plain Coke in there. “See?”
I’m pleasantly surprised that she’s not an actual drunken fool like the rest of them. I like to drink on occasion, but I do it in moderation for the most part—save for the time I took Sinclair back to my room. I was drunk off my ass that night and paid the price the next day. I haven’t had a drop of alcohol since.
“I guess you weren’t lying.”
“I’m not a liar.”
There’s something about her fierce tone that has me thinking she’s trying to send me some sort of unsaid message.
“Are you calling me one?”
“Are you?”
“I don’t know.” I glare at her. “Am I?”
A huff escapes her and she jerks her gaze from mine, watching the game like she cares. All while I watch her like I care. And there’s the lie. I don’t care about anyone else in this world except my family and myself. Oh, and Cyrus, who unfortunately couldn’t make it tonight because he went on a date.
Such a shame. I think he would’ve found the first years’ antics hilarious.
“You’re staring at me,” Sin whispers, her lips barely moving, her attention still on the game. Tim isn’t paying attention to us. No one is. I decide to test her limits.
“Can’t help it.” I lean forward, brushing the hair that’s resting against her cheek and tucking it behind her ear. She shivers—it’s the tiniest of movements, but I notice and triumph floods me. A reaction. Finally. “You’re in my line of vision.”
“You’re supposed to be watching the game.”
“I don’t give a fuck about the game.”
She turns to face me, a smile on her face. “I knew you were lying! You hate football, don’t you?”
Interesting how cheerful she sounds, asking me that question.
“You caught me.” I barely react.
“See? You are a liar.” She shakes her head.
“You don’t like it either. You’ve barely watched the game all night.” I point at the phone sitting in her lap. “You’d rather scroll social media than watch this stupid game.”
She sinks her teeth into her lower lip, looking guilty as fuck and goddamn, seeing her bite her lip is making me hard, which is ridiculous. “Caught.”
“Knew it.” I lean in close to her, my mouth at her ear and I lower my voice to a rough whisper. “Let’s get out of here.”
Sinclair jerks away from me as if she needs the space. “Are you serious?”
I say nothing. Just stare at her for a while, my gaze dropping to her mouth. Her sexy as fuck, utterly kissable mouth. It’salways formed in a pout and I realize that’s its natural shape. “Deadly.”
