Finding our mate has been a huge adjustment for the club, but Ivy fits in a little too well. She gets along with all of the sweetbutts, even Vixen, who quickly learned her lesson after Ivy nearly killed her. And the members all respect the hell out of her. It doesn’t hurt that she can ride better than any of them. We don’t tell them it’s because her bike takes over sometimes.

The only real point of contention with Ivy has been our living situation. Our mate may be the most deadly assassin, but she lives like a pampered princess in her mansion. She’s been complaining about spending time at the ranch every day for months. King had the bright idea to surprise her with an addition to the compound. While she’s been away on an assignment/"bestie vacay" out of the country, he hired the contractor that built her house to construct an add-on that would befit our queen.

It’s finally done, just in time for her to get back tonight. I can’t wait to show her.

“When’s she getting back?” Jax grumbles as he paces the living room, popping the top to his beer.

“She’ll be home in an hour. You know this. We’ve told you every thirty minutes for the past eight hours,” I glare at him.

“What if she hates it?” he mutters.

“She’s going to love it. It’s like at her house. She’ll probably never leave the bathroom again,” I chuckle.

“Good thing that shower is big enough for two.” He smirks as he finally settles down and stops pacing.

“Her entire wing is big enough for all seven of us. That was kinda the point.” I roll my eyes.

“Whatever,” he grumbles.

“Heads up! Killer has crossed the first perimeter sensor!” DJ shouts down the hallway.

Jax and I jump up and look around. “She’s not due for another hour!”

“She must have wanted to surprise us and lied about her timing,” Cree shrugs as he walks toward the door. “You know she likes doing that kind of shit.”

“It’s true. She is a sneaky bitch,” Neo laughs.

By the time Cree opens the door, Ivy’s already parking her bike… Sorry.Scarlet. Hell, if I ever referred to Kira as a car, even in my thoughts, she’d probably kill me with carbon monoxide poisoning.

“You’re early,” I call from the porch when she gets off of Scar.

“Are you going to punish me for beingearly?” She arches a perfectly sculpted brow in challenge.

“Oh, baby. I’ll punish you, if that’s what you want.”

“No!” King shouts. “Ivy, we’ve all missed you. Come inside and let us show you how much.”

“Ohhh, I like the sound of that.” She grins.

She comes inside, kissing each of my brothers as she passes. When she gets to me, she attempts to walk by without giving me my kiss, but I don’t let that shit slide. Grabbing her wrist as she walks past, I pull and spin her into me.

“Try that again, love,” I breathe in her ear as I hold her to me.

“Oh, did you want something?”

“Is that really how you want to play this? Wouldn't you hate to ruin any welcome home plans we’ve made?”

“You made welcome home plans?” She tilts her head back and looks at me upside down.Fuck, she’s adorable.

“Wouldn’t you like to know.”

“Fine,” she huffs. “I’m sorry I was a brat.”

“Was that so hard?” I loosen my grip and spin her around so she’s facing me.

“Absolutely.” She sticks her tongue out at me.

I snap at it as if I’ll bite it, before kissing her.
