The poor girl, I’d be a stuttering mess looking at these guys too.
Cocking his head and shaking it as he sighs deeply, Nate responds, “Yes, we’re alltogether. Our girlfriend has an appointment with Dr. Johnston.”
“Uh… right. Sorry. I’ll… uh… let Dr. Johnston know you’re here.” She fumbles for the phone on her desk and turns away from us as she makes her call.
Turning to glare at Nate, I smack him in the stomach. “Be nice.”
“What? Iwasnice.”
“You embarrassed her!” I hiss. “I’m sure she’s not used to seeing so many handsome men all at once, let alone with the same girl.”
“Fine, you want me to apologize, Kitten?” He raises his brow in challenge.
“No! You’ll only make it worse! Just… leave her alone!” I whisper through clenched teeth.
“Rowen?” a nurse calls from the door and we all shut up.
“Yes.”
“I’ll take you back, hun,” she offers with a kind smile.
“Right.” I nod sharply and walk toward the door, looking back to make sure everyone is following.
“We’re all coming,A Stor, don’t worry.”
“I wasn’t worried.” I stick my tongue out then turn around and try to catch up to the nurse down the hall.
She’s already standing at an open door waiting for me. “Oh! You’re all together! Uh… I don’t think there’s enough space in the room.” She grimaces.
“We’ll make do,” Nate grumbles as he pushes me into said room.
“Man, you’re being awfully grumpy today, Natey Bear.”
His answering scowl makes me lose what little composure I had when I said that and I crack up laughing.
“Oh, god. You should see your face!” I gasp out between great big guffaws.
“Cute. Get your ass on that bed, before I beat it, Kitten,” he growls.
I giggle as I walk away swaying my ass, jumping when someone’s hand lands on it. The smack echoing in the room.
“Hey!” I shriek as I whirl around.
“Oh, don’t give me that look. You were asking for it and you know it,” Nate smirks at me.
The guys all laugh as they crowd in around the room. By the time we all get situated, the door opens to Dr. J.
“Rowe, boys. Mary told me we had a full house today,” he chuckles. “Wasn’t expecting all of you to be here. Don’t y’all have jobs?” he teases.
“We’re all sick Doc. Wanna give us a note?” Ayden asks.
“Oh, Ayden.” He sighs as he shakes his head. “Alright, I hear you took the potion on Tuesday night? How’d that go?”
“Fine.”
“Rowen, I’m old enough to know when a woman says fine she means anythingbut. Come on, tell me how it went. No complications from taking the potion?”
“Ugh. No. I was just super tired. I slept most of the day yesterday and didn’t wake up til about an hour ago.”
