“Ugh, of course I did!” she huffs as she turns back around in her seat.

I glare at Violet and point my finger at her in warning.

Oh come on! I’m just having fun. I know you’re not mad… Okay, I know you're not mad aboutthat.She giggles again.

This time when her mom looks though, there’s no obvious reason for her daughter to be laughing. “What are you… Are you talking to him in his head again?”

Violet twists her shirt in her fingers and bites her bottom lip again. ”Yes.”

Oh my god! You can actually hear her?!?She thinks loudly, probably not expecting me to be able to hear her.

“Yes, I can hear her. She never shuts up,” I tease and Violet pinches me in return.

“Oh god. You heard that?! But I didn’t think itatyou!” she exclaims.

“It doesn’t work like that,A Stor. And you know you tend to think rather loudly. You were just thinkingveryloudly, and it wasaboutLogan, so he heard it,” my dad explains.

“Oh. Do you always hear me? Like when I think too loud. Your dad hears when I think too loud and that’s embarrassing enough,” she rambles.

“Not if you’re not thinking about me specifically when you’re thinking too loud. I hear Violet all of the time because she does it on purpose.”

“What do you mean all the time? You do this often? Talk to the poor boy in his head?” she asks her daughter.

“I mean… yeah? He likes it though, Mommy! Tell her!” She snaps her head in my direction, eyes begging me to get her out of trouble.

I make her sweat it out for a few seconds before I swoop in for the save. “It’s fine. She’s right, I do like it. But not when everyone does it. She’s not annoying like Uncle Ayden.” I glare like he can actually see me.

“Oh, really? Ayden bothers you, does he?”

“Yes! He’s not a very good singer, just so you know.”

She laughs at my grumbling. “Oh, I know. Kayden’s the one with the voice like an angel. Ayden could make dogs howl with his singing. He really tortures you like that?”

“All the time!”

Well, I’ll put a stop to that. Don’t you worry.

I smile in return. I can’t wait to see what she does to him.

Iam not looking forward to getting home and back to the real world and our very real problems. It was nice to have a little break to forget about everything going on and have some fun. Though, I was surprised to learn about Logan’s ability, and Iwillbe having a little conversation with the guys for keeping it from me. I see Declan grimace when he overhears that thought. Good. Heshouldbe worried.

When we pull up to the house and Hudson’s car isn’t there, I don’t know if I’m relieved or more worried. Is it good or is it bad that it’s taking so long?

“It’ll be okay,A Stor. He’ll get it, don’t worry,” Declan reassures me, taking my hand and kissing the back before getting out of the car.

I sit there for a moment longer, just slowly breathing in and out, mentally preparing myself for what the rest of the night will bring. I jump in my seat, covering my racing heart, when someone opens my door.

“Come on, Mommy! You can’t just sit in the car all night.” Violet shakes her head at me.

“You scared the life out of me little girl!”

“I’m sorry.” She giggles.
