Now that Posy was happy again, we began our new morning routine: Standing in a line at the front door and bending down when it was our turn to receive a kiss.

"I love you, Mason. Have a good day and don't forget to use your manners."

"I love you, Cole. Have a good day and don't yell at too many people."

"I love you, Wyatt. Have a good day and don't torment anyone."

"I love you, Ash. Have a good day and don't hit your head too many times."

"I love you, Jayden. Have a good day."

I grinned and kissed her mate mark.

Might as well since I'm already all the way down here.

"Hey!" Wyatt squawked. "Why doesn't Jay get a 'don't' added afterhishave a good day?"

"He doesn't need one," she giggled.

With my head on her shoulder, I looked at my brothers and smirked, and their narrowed eyes promised retribution later.

Finally, we handed her over to Tyler's care, got in our own vehicles, and drove to the alpha offices, where everything seemed to explode at once.

"We should have known this was coming," Cole muttered, scowling with irritation, as we sorted out who was going to deal with which emergency. "It's been too calm the last few weeks."

I nodded in agreement while linking our betas and gammas to see who was available to cover for us. We couldn't leave the alpha offices unattended during business hours, and we hadn't found a suitable receptionist who could handle out-of-pack calls and other things that came up in our absence.

When Matthew said he could do it, my brothers left on their missions while I waited for him.

Need to get a receptionist ASAP, I sighed.

Yeah, Cole linked back. Our betas have better things to do than man phones.

Later today, I'll make up an advertisement to send out to the pack, Mase offered.Good?

Good, we all agreed.

By then, Matthew had arrived, so I left the office in his capable hands.

Fortunately, my task was finished quickly and I got back to the office within an hour, gasping for another cup of coffee. Matthew, who was on the phone at the receptionist's desk, flagged me down when I would have walked past him on my way to the kitchenette.

"Hold one moment, please," he told the caller, then put his hand over the speaker and looked at me.

"Alpha Kayvon Quake of Cold Moon. He wanted to know if we had a shifter named Bridger Donahue in our pack. I just confirmed we did when you walked in, and now he's saying he needs to talk to one of the alphas about the kid."

I clenched my jaw. Donahue was a burr under my saddle. Had been for the last year or so. What chaos had he caused that reached all the way to Cold Moon? To the best of my knowledge, the boy had never left Five Fangs.

Giving Matthew a curt nod, I held out my hand for the phone.

"This is Alpha Mason Price," I said as soon as I had it next to my ear.

"Sorry to bother you, alpha, but I need to meet face-to-face with you or one of your brothers about your shifter, Bridger Donahue," Alpha Quake launched right into it.

"Okay. Here or at Cold Moon?"
