Is Yolanda okay?I linked them and Tyler.Should I go check on her?

No, luna, we got it. She just got scared,Sophia told me.We'll take care of her.

Everyone thinks it's Fifi who's so fragile—

Hey!Sophia cut Bram off.

—But it's really my little Yo-Yo,he ignored her to continue. She doesn't do well with raised voices and aggression and being teased, especially when they pick on her size. She's quite sensitive about it.

We remind her all the time that we're her friend for who she is, not for the number on her bathroom scale,Sophia added. She struggles to have a positive body image.

I understood that. I knew I was healthier than I'd ever been in my life, but still had a long way to go before I felt comfortable with anyone but my mates and family seeing me in a swimsuit. Sure, my hip bones and spine didn't stick out of my skin so much anymore and my ribs weren't quite as prominent, but I still had days when I felt gross and ugly when I looked in a mirror.

Take care of her, please, I told them as they walked out of the room and Mr. Herron began to introduce himself to the class. And tell her to link me later.

We will, luna,Bram said.

Enjoy Mr. Herron's class. He's a hoot.Sophia giggled.Last year, he made Yola and me laugh so hard, we almost peed ourselves several times.

At least his class is after Mrs. Gautier's. Think of him as your reward for putting up with her sour self for fifty-five minutes,Tyler smirked.

I gave him The Look, which only made him chuckle out loud.

Considering he'd come in the class a few minutes ago with murder on his mind, I'd count that as a win.

Mr. Herronwasa hoot, and Ididnearly pee myself when he jumped up on his desk and offered his soul to any god who cared to take it in exchange for an espresso machine in the teacher's lounge.

After Tyler explained what espresso was, I was glad there wasn't one. Mr. Herron seemed to be in overdrive twenty-four seven. His poor heart would probably explode with that much caffeine in his system.

After history class, we went to the cafeteria, which was only about half full, and met up with Landry and Konstantin, who helped Tyler shove two tables together.

"Do we have that many people joining us for lunch?" I asked as I twisted my fingers, nervous to be in the big, noisy room surrounded by humans.

"Don't worry, luna," Tyler bent down to whisper in my ear. "I would never let anyone dangerous near you."

"I know. Thank you." I patted his arm, then bit back a grin as I saw Peri sneaking up behind him.

"Rawr!" she yelled as she jumped on his back, and he only rolled his eyes before he turned to scoop her up in his arms.

"I smelled your sweet scent as soon as you came into the room, sunshine," he teased her.

"Aw!" She pouted for a second, then brightened up when he dropped a quick kiss on her lips.

"Want to come with me to get luna her lunch?"

"Oh, yeah! Posy, you wait here with Kon and Landry and we'll be right back." Peri wiggled until Tyler set her on her feet.

"Mason said it's already paid for. I just need to—"

"We know," they said together, then grinned at each other and took off hand in hand.

"Everything okay, luna?" Landry asked as he pulled out a chair and motioned for me to sit in it.

"Yeah, I guess. I don't much care for my creative writing teacher, and some guys were picking on Yola and Bram in history and got Ty riled up." I turned my frown upside down and chirped, "Otherwise, I'm loving school! It's so interesting!"

"Pfft! I guess," he snorted. "I just want it over and done with. One-hundred-and-seventy-nine more days to go."
