"They're all yours." Mase waved at the boxes I'd left on the shelf. "Glad you boys are mature enough to be safe."

Leaving them gawking, I shoved Ash off the cart, then hurried to the front of the store. As I made a beeline for the register, Jay beat on my arm with his fist and pointed to the other side.

"Use the self-checkout!" he hissed.

Glancing up, I saw there was only one register open with a white-haired human woman standing at it. I rolled my eyes at his sense of propriety, but went over to the self-checkout and began the laborious process of scanning boxes and bottles.

Mase made Ash do the bagging so he wouldn't wander off, and Jay lugged the flats of water out to the SUV after I scanned them with the little hand-held gun.

Cole, how's our girl?Mase asked in the alpha link when I was down to the last few items.
