I sensed her wolf reaching out to Quartz, but he was deep into the rage and didn’t even notice. WishingIcould talk to her wolf, I tried to tell him he would hurt her feelings if he continued to ignore her, but he wasn’t having it.

Then Wyatt stepped up to stand behind me, and her beautiful blue eyes went to his face.

"Hello, cutie. I'm Wyatt Black and my wolf is Granite. I'm eighteen. All of us are into sports and video games, but I also like working on cars."

She looked at him for a long moment, then swiveled her eyes to Ash, who bounced on his toes with excitement lighting his dark brown eyes.

A smile bloomed on her face, taking us all by surprise.

Goddess, she’s beautiful, Wyatt breathed.

Very, I agreed, and Cole and Mase nodded.

"Your dimples are so precious!" Ash covered his mouth with both hands for a second, then launched into his introduction. "I'm Ash Mitchell, and my wolf is Obsidian, but everyone calls him Sid. I'm also eighteen. I don't really have hobbies other than what Wyatt already said. I'm going to call you princess, and also cupcake when you're being cute!"

Posy looked like she was holding back a giggle as she looked him over, and I figured she thought he was adorable. All the girls fawned over his big, brown, teddy-bear eyes and mess of thick curls.

Or she can’t get over how freakishly tall he is, I smirked. The boy was six foot, ten inches, and still growing - and our girl couldn’t be more than five foot even.

When Ash winked at her, she blushed, and Cole and I both cooed at how cute she was.

"What's your bunny's name?" Ash asked her.

"Mr. Nibbles."

"Aw. That's such a great name for a bun. And he's almost as cute as you are, cupcake."

That made her face burn red again.

Dude, pretend I’m high-fiving you, I grinned.

I know, right? I got her to smile and blush and talk andalmostgiggle! He did a little happy dance.

"Stop teasing her," said Mase as he came over and stood next to Ash. "I'm Mason Price, little flower. My wolf is Garnet. I'm twenty-one. I enjoy all the things already mentioned."

Short and to the point. That was our Mase.

Her eyes widened a little as she took in the tattoos that ran up and down his arms and the one behind his ear. All the tattoos made him look dangerous, and I knew he was worried it would intimidate her. He also radiated power and intensity, which probably didn't help.

Then her eyes darted over to Cole, who hadn't moved from where Mase put him.

"My name is Cole Barlow, honey." His voice was calm and quiet again. "Topaz is my wolf. I'm twenty. I like playing chess and cards and shooting pool."

As she looked at him, she shrunk into herself and hunched her shoulders, and we all felt Cole’s pain and grief in the alpha bond.

If I could turn back time just a few minutes, he muttered.

Well, you can’t,I said bluntly,so be more careful going forward. I know it’s hard, but you’re going to have to lock your temper down good and tight.

But then our little mate did something else surprising. Taking a deep breath, she raised her hand and held it out to him. His eyes widening, he slowly walked over and laid his hand in hers, and she looked up at him.

"What is that?" she whispered.

"The sparks? It's the mate bond. Feels nice, doesn't it? Like sitting by a warm fire on a freezing night," he murmured. "I'm sorry for scaring you."

She squeezed his hand and smiled at him; smiling back, he rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand.

"Posy, would you like to rest now?" Mase asked. "We have some matters to settle with your brothers, then we can pack your things and take you home with us."
