"Mason?"

I shoved my anger down and brushed the knuckles of one hand down the side of her face.

"Well, little flower, when any of the boys fight, Cole and I sit down and have a ... talk with them. Unless Cole was one of the combatants. Then it's just me. Anyway, I guess the question now is, do you wantmeto chew the two of them out, or areyougoing to?"

She stared at me for a few seconds, then something formed in those deep blue eyes that made me think of an angel.

Not those cute, fat, little baby angels, either. Oh, no. The kind of angel who has a big-ass bronze sword and rains holy wrath down on the wicked.

Oh, they are in trouble,Garnet giggled with glee.

They are, indeed, I agreed with a dark smirk.Good luck, my brothers.

Someone knocked hard and sharp on the alpha link. That was Mase's usual style, and I sighed.

Time for one of his famous talks, Granite mumbled, his eyes dull with misery.

You'd think I'd have it memorized by now, huh? Maybe he'll change it up on us.

Don't joke, Wy.We screwed up.

Yeah.

I sighed again and opened the alpha link. As usual, Mase didn't mince words.

Posy wants to see you. Are you decent?

Yes.

I'm bringing her to you now.

Fine,I muttered.

Wyatt.

I said fine!

His displeasure smacked into me, and I scowled, but stayed silent.

Granite was right. I'd screwed up.

Like one of my worst screw-ups ever.

It even worse than the time you accidentally shot Ash with an arrow. Or the time you wrecked Dad's brand-new Harley Davidson. Or the time you set Mama's kitchen on fire with—

Okay, I get it, Granite! I've had a lot of big screw-ups. Thank you for the reminder!

This time, though, my screw-up not only pissed off Quartz and terrified Posy, but also put Ash in danger, upset Jay, and gave Mase one more reason to be disappointed in me.

Taking Ls all around today,I thought as I rooted around in my dresser for a pair of shorts.Deserve them, too.

The bedroom door opened, and Posy's delicious scent flooded my senses and soothed me.

"I thought you said you were decent," Mase barked.
