How fast were you going, Wy?Papa Bear demanded.
One-fifty.I looked at my shoes.Or so.
Wyatt!he growled. Not even a shifter could survive a wreck at that speed! You could have been—
Mom ran into the living room and interrupted him.
"Gentleman, I am pleased and proud to present your beautiful luna!"
Mom held her arms out like a game show model displaying a prize, and all our eyes went to the doorway.
Four tiny fingers gripped the door frame, and half of Posy's face slowly appeared. The one blue eye that I could see was wide with anxiety, and her teeth sank into her bottom lip.
I wanted to send her words of encouragement, but she wasn't opening the link with any of us, and I was afraid that speaking aloud would ruin the moment.
And I was trying hard to not do anything that would make Cole slap me upside my head. I had my hair just the way I wanted it for the photos.
Come on, baby, I whispered in my head, trying to will her forward. You can do it. You're our strong, brave girl.
A foot clad in a pink ballet flat came around the corner, followed by a smooth leg, then a knee under a pink frou-frou skirt.
Pretty, pretty!Granite chanted. Our mate is so pretty!
We haven't even seen all of her yet, wolf.I rolled my eyes at him.
What I see so far is pretty enough.
True,I gave him that one.
Then the rest of Posy ever so slowly moved into view and my breath caught in my throat.
See?! Pretty, pretty Posy!
Hush, wolf.
My brothers must have been as stunned as I was. No one said a word or moved or even seemed to be breathing.
I could hear the clicking of a camera and Mom and Mama giggling, but ignored it all. How could I give even a sliver of attention to anything or anyone other than the ethereal creature standing uncertainly before us?
"Posy," Mase whispered, the first of us to come out of our stupor. "I have no words to describe how lovely you are, little flower."
"It's the gown Peri made." She held her arms out to her sides and looked down at the dress. "It's gorgeous, isn't it?"
"No, sweetness. It's the girl wearing it who's gorgeous." Jay took two long strides and grabbed one of her hands in both of his, then bent over it to kiss her knuckles.
A pink blush colored her cheeks and she cast her eyes to the floor.
"Such a shy little baby," Cole murmured as he walked up to her. "We're proud to be your mate, honey. You are so precious to us."
Taking her other hand, he copied Jay, and we had the pleasure of watching her blush darken.
"Even though I didn't get to do your hair today, princess, it looks amazing." Ash joined them and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "Simple but elegant, just like you."
Now her whole face turned red, making the three of them smirk at each other.
"Brothers, step back for a second," I requested and came closer. "Give us a slow twirl, cutie."
A dimpled smile flashed on her face, and Jay and Cole let go of her hands so she could do what I asked.
