"Dunno. Cutie, lemme sleep." His closed eyes screwed shut even tighter.
Knowing a lost cause when I saw it, I let his face drop back to its pair of soft pillows. He nestled in with a contented hum, making me smile.
The door opened and Cole came in.
"Time to get up, you two," he chirped. "Breakfast is ready!"
"Help, Cole! The grumpy bear is squishing me!" I held up my arms and made grabby hands. "Save me!"
Laughing, Cole put his hands under my arms and pulled me out from under Wyatt's solid weight, then picked me up and held me against his chest. His short beard scraped against my skin as he buried his face in my neck and dropped little kisses everywhere my nightshirt left bare.
"My hero," I murmured and wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. "Good morning."
"Good morning, my lovely girl." He carried me toward my bathroom. "Need to freshen up before we go downstairs?"
"Yes, please. Cole, I know it's late, but I want to get Peri something for her birthday. Any ideas?"
"Let me think about it. You want someone to run you to the store after breakfast?"
"Yes, please."
"Such a polite baby." He kissed me before setting my feet down on the cold bathroom tile. "See you downstairs in a minute."
"Are you going to wrangle Wyatt out of bed?"
"Oh, yeah. Highlight of my morning," he grumbled.
I giggled and gave him one last hug before pushing him out and closing the bathroom door.

Now that I was fully mated to the pack's alphas, I could link all the betas and gammas. Jayden had explained that I would be able to link any member after I was inducted into the pack at my luna ceremony. I was looking forward to being able to link Peri, Callie, and Keeley. Although we all had phones and Peri had set up a group chat for the four of us, linking was much faster, especially in an emergency.
I wouldn't call my current predicament an emergency, but it was an issue.
Cole had given me a few ideas for Peri's present, but now I needed to get to the store to buy something. The boys spent breakfast moaning about the dreaded paperwork that waited for them, so I didn't want to bother them.
I could ask one of the flock, but Beatrix and her mates had already left to supervise the move to Five Fangs, and the others were picking out their new homes with their mates.
Emerson and Angelo had already selected their house and would probably be free to take me, and I was comfortable with Emerson. Angelo? Not so much. He could be scary.
You thought Em scary, too, at first, Lark murmured sleepily.
And he can be, but never with me. I don't know if that's true with Angelo.
What about Ty?she suggested.
Ah ha!I brightened, then frowned. He doesn't have a vehicle, though.
Your mates can loan him one, or he can get one from pack fleet.
Fleet?I asked, not knowing that word.
Garnet say it a group of vehicles anyone in pack can borrow.
Like a library book?
Sure.Lark snickered at me, and I rolled my eyes at her.
