Do you think our brothers understand that?I wondered.
They do. They talked. I heard.
I had an idea, if everyone is willing.I said, then hesitated to share it.
Mate her in Posy’s body and us in our boys’.
Of course, Garnet had already thought of the same solution. Although he was nearly mute except with our mate, he was smart, this wolf brother of mine.
Sid and Granite might not be able to handle it,I admitted with a chuckle, and I have my doubts about Topaz, too.
Granite huffed out a quiet laugh as I shared a certain memory through the link. Jayden was about sixteen at the time, and we were all in control of our humans' forms for some reason I'd since forgotten. Sid, Granite, and Topaz had an argument about jerking off of all things, which only ended when they decided to demonstrate their individual techniques on each other. Granite and I watched in fascinated disbelief. We didn't get involved, but we didn't intervene, either. Topaz had stopped when Cole commanded, but Sid and Granite ignored their boys' yelling and went all the way to the finish.
We wolves didn't care, but Ash and Wyatt couldn't look at each other in the face for a week afterwards.
The babies would go first,Granite said with laughter still in his voice,so that you and I could make it up to her afterwards.
Our boys will agree. They won't deny us the bond that we need with our wolf mate, I told him.
As if we'd let them,Garnet snorted, but would Posy agree?
That was the question, wasn't it?
Remembering our cuddle session earlier, I thought about how she'd stuffed her face in my fur and kissed my head between my eyes. She'd massaged my ears and rubbed my belly until one of my back feet kicked, her laughter like silver bells. Best of all, during her rambling, she'd told me she loved me over and over.
She'd agree, I said now with conviction. In the future, though. Right now, she's barely ready to mate the boys.
A flash of anger burned into me, and my low growl rumbled around the room. Jayden opened his eyes, which went right to Posy and scanned her sleeping form.
"Quartz?" he rasped. " 'S wrong?"
Nothing. A bad thought. Go back to sleep.
With a nod, he dropped a kiss on Posy's forehead and was out again.
He's dead, Q, and she is safe now,Garnet murmured. No one will ever hurt her again. As for us, we can wait. For as long as it takes.
Yes.I sighed and shoved the anger away.We will wait, and we will keep her safe.
Forever,he vowed.
Forever.

As I was drifting off to sleep, I'd heard Quartz talking to Garnet, which was unusual because Garnet usually kept to himself and Quartz was, well,Quartz.
They were both turning into regular chatterboxes with our mate, though, and now they were jabbering away with each other.
I was happy, and I knew Mase would be, too, when I told him.
Quartz woke me up once when he growled about something, but said he was fine and Garnet wasn't worried about it. I didn't try to eavesdrop on their conversation, wanting them to talk freely about whatever they'd found to talk about, and Iwastired, so I closed my eyes and went to sleep again.
Hours later, I woke up to sunlight gradually brightening the room and the sounds of slow, even breathing all around me. Sometime during the night, Wyatt and I had lost Posy, though, which brought a pout to my face. Instead of hugging our sweet girl, I had Wyatt half on top of me with his fluffy blond hair right under my chin and his drool making his cheek stick to my chest.
We weren't lying when we told Posy that he and Cole were snugglers at night.
