He stuck his hand out, and I reached across the table to shake it. The rest introduced themselves, and I kept my cool despite being surrounded by six gorgeous, powerful guys.

The close bond of the alpha and alphas-to-be was almost tangible, but confusing as well. Alpha Mason had called them brothers, but none of them resembled each other, and they all had different last names.

Despite their friendly welcome, I couldn't lower my guard. Two months ago, things had been looking promising at Cold Moon, too, until I met the luna.

That bitch!Cove snarled as my smile faltered at the memory.Should have killed her!

And had the whole pack on our tail as we ran.I rolled my eyes at him, then figured I'd better see if I would have a crazy luna to deal with here.

"Do you have a luna, Alpha Mason?" I asked, flicking my eyes to his face.

"No, we don't."

"Goddess, I hope we don't have to wait too long after Wyatt turns eighteen." Ash wiggled in his seat, sending his dark curls flying wildly. "I can't wait until we find her! I'm going to love her so much!"

"She's going to be so sweet." Cole's green eyes softened. "As sweet as honey."

"Wait until she finds out there's five of you," Beta Matthew muttered into his soda. "Poor girl."

"It'll be fine." Wyatt waved one hand. "The Moon Goddess said so."

I looked around at their faces, torn between concern and confusion.

Are they crazy?

"No. We're not crazy," Jayden chuckled while Wyatt giggled and Ash roared with laughter.

Oops. Said that out loud.

Cole explained that the Goddess had appeared to them in a dream several years ago. Although not related, the five of them were as close as brothers, and she'd explained that multiple mates would only tear them apart right when the new pack needed them to be tighter-knit than ever.

"So she said she was going to gift us with a mate to share," Jayden continued the story. "When our first pup arrives, it will finish solidifying Five Fangs and dissolve our individual packs."

"She said we're going to have to be very patient, but she has the perfect girl for us." Wyatt's smile grew dreamy.

"You're going to have to work hard on the patience thing over the next three years." Cole shot him a dark glare.

"I can be patient! I can have all the patience in the world if it's for our mate. You'rethe one who needs to work on your temper."

As the two bantered, I chuckled. I liked these guys. I hoped I had a place here.

I hope so, too,Cove whispered. I like these wolves.

You're talking to their wolves?

Yep!He bounced around in my head. Two are funny. Two are silly babies. One is quiet, but nice. The other does not speak. He is grumpy.

Alpha Mason's wolf?

No, Jayden's. The others say not to bother him.

Then don't bother him.AsCove went back to talking with the other wolves, I asked myself if I should take the chance with this pack. They know I'm gay and won't be a pup-making machine, so that shouldn't be an issue. They're going to need four more betas, and I'm strong, fast, and dependable.

My enthusiasm suddenly ground down to nothing. If they offered me a beta position, I'd have to dedicate my life to protecting their luna. What if she turned out to be as horrible as the one at Cold Moon? Could I do that?

As my mind whirled, I sat in silence and bit my bottom lip, and a hand came down on my shoulder.

"Chill, my dude," Ash advised me with a smile. "Just eat and enjoy the moment."
