Page 66 of Luna: Posy 2

If Posy were here, what solution would she suggest?asked Garnet, the sly dog.

Whose side are you on, anyway?I grumbled.

Whatever side would please our mate. As you should be.

That's playing dirty, Garnet.

But, "We can make the cell more comfortable for him," is what I said aloud.

Both the king and the witches were good with that, so I helped Angelo carry Halder's dead weight back to the prison where, in my opinion, he belonged.

After we improved Leo Halder's cell to the witches' satisfaction, the king asked us to do a sweep of the territory while he took one last, thorough look through the alpha house and offices. Splitting up into three-person teams, we each took a section of the pack lands, checked it out, and reconvened back at the prison to check on Halder.

He was still sleeping, as Ariel had predicted he would be, and we left him to it.

It was close enough to dinner time by then that we all went up to the alpha house for a meal and found the King of Werewolves making grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.

"We need to get those groceries and supplies," he said as we trooped in the back door. "Twins, you're on shopping detail after we eat."

"Beatrix is coming with us," Zayne and Zayden said at the same time.

"Of course." The king nodded as he flipped a sandwich. "By the way, as soon as I got your all-clear reports, I contacted Luke and told him to bring my queen to me."

"Posy can come, too, right?" I started to hop up and down.

"She's already on her way." King Julian smiled. "Your betas are in a convoy with Luke and Lilah."

"Excellent!" Wyatt threw his fists into the air.

We all started to link our girl, excited and talking over each other.

Guys, guys!she laughed.I'm happy, too, but I can't understand you when you all talk at once. Emerson says we're about three hours away.

We talked to her until the car ride started to put her to sleep, then told her how much we loved her and that we'd see her very soon.

Jay brought up where we were going to sleep tonight if our girl was with us since the set-up we had already wasn't working. Our unique arrangement often presented a problem when we traveled, and we'd had to come up with creative solutions in the past. This time was no different, except our mate's comfort took priority.

"Between the alpha house, Luke's place, and the twins' house, Ariel found everyone a space except for Matthew and Crew," I said. "If we give Ariel back our two rooms for them, that would leave the alpha office building completely empty. Let's take it over."

"Conference room," Mase said. "Biggest room there."

"We can move the table and chairs out, get three king mattresses, and put them together on the floor," Jay said while nodding. "Since it's a completely interior room, we won't need to get blinds or curtains, and there's a full bathroom right across the hall."

"I think that's the best solution," Cole agreed.

"Perfect!" I jumped up and down in my excitement.

"Let's go buy them now," Wyatt said. "And let's not forget sheets and pillows. Especially pillows. I like lots of pillows."

"We know," we all chorused, and he stuck his tongue out at us.

Zayne and Zayden gave us directions to a store and we were off. We got what we needed and paid the manager a good wad of cash to have his truck driver follow us with the mattresses. We got everything set up in the conference room, including Wyatt's multitude of pillows, and then we went up to the alpha house to wait with everyone else.

To kill time, my brothers and I settled down to watch a movie in the living room with the king, the witches, Zayne, and Zayden.
