Mase's voice was so tired, I grimaced. The best thing I could do to help him, though, was to take care of Ash's child-like wolf.

"Okay, little one. Come sleep with me," I said to Sid-in-Ash's-body. "Wyatt, you, too."

After we stripped down to our boxers, the three of us climbed into bed, Sid in the middle and Wyatt and me on either side. Sid dropped off almost immediately, despite Wyatt flailing around to get comfortable.

He did that for about half an hour. I wasn't surprised, considering the noise Mase and Jay made as they wrangled the mattress through the door and laid it on the floor, then went out again and came back with a stack of bedding and pillows.

After they got settled on the floor, Wyatt calmed down and I thought we were home free. I was just drifting off to sleep myself when terror jolted through the mate bond and jerked me wide awake.

Mase was already thundering at the betas, demanding to know what had happened to Posy.

Nightmare, alpha,Emerson linked us. We can't help her with you howling at us.

Sitting up, we all waited in silence. Well, except for Sid. He continued to sleep like the baby he was.

It seemed like forever before Em linked to tell us she was okay and sent us an image of our girl nestled against him with Mr. Nibbles in her arms.

It's her first nightmare since we found her,and we're not there to help her through it!Wyatt rumbled, then cursed himself hoarse.

I understand your feelings, alpha,Em said,but at least you know she's in good hands. We got her. Until you get home, you can trust that we got her.

Jay thanked him, and Em let us watch her through his eyes for a little bit.

"Why won't she link with us?" I asked after trying the mate link for the thousandth time.

"Ten bucks says she forgot," Jay chuckled.

"How can youlaughat this?" Wyatt was losing it. He had his fists clenched in his hair and tears in his eyes.

"Hey, it's okay." I reached over Sid to untangle his hands, then pulled him into a hug. "I know it's stressful, but she's not in any danger. She's with people who care about her."

I'm sorry for making you worry, Posy whispered through Emerson's link.I'm all right now. Em and Ty are with me, and Mr. Nibbles is making me feel better.

"See?" I told him and petted his head. "Look how she's waving the bunny's arm. Isn't that adorable?"

He nodded, but didn't say anything. Instead, he rested his head against my chest and lay there quietly.

When Em asked her why she wasn't linking with us, her answer made Jay grin.

Oh, yeah, she said.I forgot I could do that now!

For several minutes, we linked with her and reassured her that we loved her and that she hadn't bothered us, that wewantedto know when things like this happened. Finally, she said good night and blew us kisses, and I relaxed.

"Did he fall asleep like that?" Jay gestured to Wyatt, who still rested against my chest.

Wyatt shook his head, but didn't reply.

"Come on, Wy," I murmured. "Let's go back to sleep."

" 'Kay."

In hindsight, there were so many warning signs that I was ashamed of myself later for not picking up on evenoneof them. As it was, I didn't realize there was a problem until he wouldn't stop flailing around again. Usually, if something woke him or he got up to pee in the middle of the night, he fell right back to sleep.

"Wyatt, come snuggle in between me and Sid." I raised the sheet and motioned for him to come over. "Maybe that will help you settle."

He crawled over and wedged his back against Sid's side and wrapped his arms around my torso, then squeezed me too hard.
