Yes, but she's still nervous. I don't want to spook her any more than I already have.
After the alphas, she trusts me the most out of her betas. Well, Em, too, but she's wary of Angelo, so they're keeping their distance for now. I don't think that's a good strategy. How can avoiding her help her feel comfortable with you?
He has a point,Al said.
"I'd like that, if it's okay with you, Posy?" When she nodded, I asked, "What game?"
"Monopoly," Tyler groaned. "The alphas want to start a tradition of having family game night with old-school board games and dominoes and stuff like that. Alpha Jay mentioned Monopoly, so she wants to learn it before then. She asked me to teach her, but I've never played before, either, so we were going to learn it together."
She doesn't want to look dumb in front of her mates, he added through the link.
Why would she look dumb?I frowned in confusion. No one's born knowing how to play Monopoly.
She doesn't understand how money works. Like, how to count it or anything, really. Earlier this morning, she asked me to help her with some cash she won in a bet, and she didn't understand that five tens are worth the same as one fifty dollar bill. She thought they'd be worth more because there were more of them.
Oh.I blinked. And her mates are billionaires. Talk about irony!
Tyler grinned, and Riverfinallyfaded from his eyes.
"Monopoly?" I said aloud. "I'm surprised Cole didn't say anything about chess."
"He did, but he wants to teach her that himself."
"Chess takes a while to master," I said as I looked at Posy. "Cole's played for years and years, so he'll be a good teacher. Personally, I find it boring. Monopoly is much more fun! I'm going to teach you all the tricks so you can rob the boys blind!"
The little smile she gave me was a blessing I knew I didn't deserve, but one I'd treasure for the gift it was.

We set up the game on the dining room table, then I went over the rules and suggested I be the banker until they practiced a few times.
Now Posy and Tyler were arguing over who got to use the dog token. Posy wanted it because it was cute, and Tyler said River wanted it for the same reason. As if she knew a temper tantrum was approaching, Posy gave in with good grace and took the top hat.
Does she know about River?I linked Tyler.
No, he muttered.I'd rather she didn't until she had to.
Understood.
Then the sound of a vehicle coming up the drive caught our attention, but it was the smell of unfamiliar wolves that put us on alert.
"Stay with the luna, Ty. Do not leave her side."
"Yes, sir."
"What's going on?" Posy asked.
I stood and headed for the front door as Tyler explained to her. Going out onto the porch, I watched as a long-bed, extended cab truck pulled into the parking area. The boys had finally given in and gotten it and the long driveway paved.
Thank the Goddess. I was sick of all that dust.
As soon as the pick-up was parked, the driver's door opened, and a dark-haired shifter stepped out and came up the walk. When I recognized him, I had to hide my disgust behind a blank face.
What ishedoing here?Al snarled.
I don't know, but I'm sure we're about to find out.
Three more shifters in the vehicle,my wolf pointed out.
