An eternity passed with his forehead on my shoulder and something enormous buried inside me.

"Sweetness? Is it better?"

I wiggled a bit to see and was happy to find the pain had faded.

"Yes," I told him.

He raised his head, and our eyes met and held. Very slowly, he drew his hips back, then carefully brought them forward again. At first, it burned a little, and I had to bite the inside of my lips after each of his strokes. I'd endured much worse for nothing, though; I could stand this if it led to the pleasure he'd promised.

After a few more unhurried thrusts, a new kind of burn began. Somehow, he knew when it happened. His smooth and tender rhythm steadily increased speed until I was panting again.

“Jayden?” I gasped.

"Goddess, you’re tight!” he groaned, tipping his head back. "So damn tight! It feels amazing!”

He felt amazing, too. Everything he was doing to me felt amazing. I never knew my body could feel anything like this. I wanted to tell him that, but all that came out of my mouth was his name on a long, low moan.

"Jaaaayden!”

He groaned again, then braced his hands on either side of my head, rose up to hover over me, and drove in deeper. Soft cries escaped my lips every time he hit this one spot, and he was quick to figure that out.

"Get ready, little bird," he panted. "You’re going to come with me.”

Balancing on one hand, he reached between us and furiously rubbed my nub, and I couldn't hold on any longer.

"Jayden?"

"Fly, baby," he bit off as he pumped into me hard and fast.

I rocketed into the sun like a phoenix blazing across the sky. When the fire burned out, the wind buffeted me around like a feather, carrying me far away. Tears skated down my cheeks and I didn't understand why I felt so lost.

Then my beloved's voice drew me back to my nest. Back to my home.

"Shh. I'm here. I've got you, precious girl. You're okay. Sweet, sweet Posy."

I came to my senses to find Jayden lying on his back with me sprawled on top of him, his arms wrapped tight around my head and shoulders. Shaking hard, I hugged his neck and sobbed, and he pushed my face into his throat.

"Call on your wolf to heal the soreness," he whispered.

I didn't need to call Lark, though. She'd already done it, and I'd never felt better in my life.

"Let me clean you up, sweetness."

"I've got it, Jay," Cole murmured. "I'm going to wash you a bit, okay, baby?"

I nodded, then he gently wiped a warm wet cloth on my thighs and between them.

"I'll be right back, Posy. I'm going to clean up, too," Jayden said.

I didn't want to hear that. I felt vulnerable and needy.

"No," I whimpered and clung to him.

"Okay, okay," he murmured and stroked my hair.

"I'll get you a washcloth for now, Jay," Ash said from across the bed.

"I'm sorry for being selfish," I whispered.
