Page 107 of Mates: Posy

A little jolt of energy hit my stomach, startling me, until Lark explained it was a normal effect of marking our mates.

"Wow." Ash's dark brown eyes glittered, his pupils blown wide, and his hands tightened on my waist. "If other males knew what that felt like, they'd beg their mates to mark them. Thank you, Posy. I'm honored by this."

I giggled, then leaned back and examined the mark. To a human, it would look like a tattoo of a full moon with a star off to the side. Only another shifter would see it as a mate mark.

"Why is there a star?" I asked as I turned to Mason.

"I have an idea that four more stars will appear, one when you mark each of us."

I nodded. That made sense.

Now that I had confidence, I reached over and grabbed his shoulders.

"I'm next?" His eyebrows flew up.

Giggling, I buried my face in his throat and let Lark do her thing. He had a similar reaction to Ash, which made me smile, and more energy flooded my belly. After Lark cleaned up the blood, I looked at his mark and saw two stars.

"Thank you, little flower." Mason framed my face in his palms and kissed the tip of my nose. "This means the world to me."

I kissed his nose, too, then turned to Ash.

"Is there another star?"

"I don't know. Look at it and see."

Yep! There were now two stars around the moon. Bouncing excitedly, I clapped my hands. Ash groaned deep in his throat and shifted me off his lap and into Jayden's.

"Ash?"

"Jay's turn, right?" He smiled, but it looked a little strained.

Before I could ask if I'd done something wrong, Jayden put a finger under my chin and turned me to face him. His dragon eyes glimmered.

"He's fine, Posy. Will you please mark me now?"

With pink cheeks, I nodded and repeated the process with him. Energy licked up and down my breastbone, flickering like a flame and tickling a little. He slid a hand into my hair and held my head in place for a second after Lark finished, then let me up to see the finished mark of three stars.

I double-checked Ash and Mason's marks and found stars had been added to theirs as well.

Looks like Mason was right!

"Sweetness, thank you for marking me. I will cherish this moment forever."

Oh, my heart.

To hide my red face, I lunged at Cole and landed on his chest. He caught me in his arms and chuckled.

"Hey, honey."

In my excitement, I grabbed his jaw and twisted his head to the side. His continuous chuckles bounced me up and down, but I didn't care. Lark bit down, and Cole's chuckles turned into a rumbly groan. Even more energy shot through my arms, down my hands, and into my fingers. I checked his mark when Lark finished and, sure enough, four stars sparkled around the moon.

"Thank you, honey. To echo my brothers, this is an honor that I'll treasure."

Then he ruined his sincerity by tickling my ribs. With a squeal, I rolled over him, giggling when he groaned again. I hopped down from the bed, raced around to the other side, and jumped onto a sleepy-eyed Wyatt.

Well, triedto jump. He had to grab me before I could slide back off the edge.

Once he had an arm looped around my waist, he drew me into the curve of his body. Lying on our sides, we faced each other and his lazy grin made my heart flutter.
