“You jerk,” Wren exclaims with a slight laugh.

“Careful, or we’ll have our first fight.” I tease her.

She goes to tickle me, but I grab her hands. “You just said you didn’t feel the same,” she says, fighting my hold on her.

“I don’t know, Wren, this seems like an omen.”

She goes limp, her chest meeting mine. “I don’t believe in omens.”

“What do you believe in, then?” I ask while wrapping my arms around her.

“Us.”

I smile up at her, and rest my hand against her cheek, loving how she looks at me. “That’s all we need.”

“That’s cheesy.” She rolls her eyes.

“You said it first!” I laugh. Grabbing her hips, I tickle her mercilessly.

“Theo!” Wren squirms, and her laughter fills the room like music.

Her attempt to ward off my attack is fruitless. I’m driven by seeing her relaxed and her gorgeous smile. Every spot I discover makes her squeal in delight, but it’s not long before she’s begging me to stop.

“Theo, please, I can’t breathe!”

“Okay, okay.” I give in, and she works on gathering her composure.

“Thank you,” she says on an exhale.

But then she relaunches the attack on me, and I let out a surprised roar. “Wren!”

She resumes the tickle war, her fingers relentlessly tracing and moving along my waist and my sides. Thankfully, I’m much stronger than she is. So, I scoop her in my arms and flip her onto her side, forcing her into a cuddle position.

“You need to relax,” I pant against her ear.

“You started it.” She pinches my side before snuggling close to me. “Mmm, you feel nice.”

The way she melts in my arms relaxes me. Wren has always worked her magic on me in one way or another, and this may be my favorite. With her bare chest against mine, I run my fingers through her hair and kiss the top of her head.

“I’m surprised you didn’t ask what was in the big boxes you managed to get inside.”

She nearly pops back up, but I hold her still.

She pulls back as much as she can with my arms wrapped around her. “What is it?”

“A gaming computer.”

Her brows knit together. “You already have one.”

“It’s for you.”

Those gorgeous hazel eyes widen, and she smiles wide. “What?”

“Just like the old days.”

“Thank you.” She kisses me, and I’m coming to realize that if she kisses me whenever she’s grateful, I’m going to be averyhappy man.

“You get some sleep, mi amor. I’ll set it up so we can game later.”
