This soothing blue coated the walls among these delicate white patterns that mimicked the gentle, flowing movement of clouds.

A seating area near the window featured a low table with delicate blue and white porcelain teacups. Steam rose from the cups, telling me that the staff knew damn well the bedroom would be our first stop during our visit.

I bet the view from the windows is breathtaking.

I scanned the space some more.

Just wow.

The bed stood as the centerpiece—a massive structure draped in luxurious fabrics. The comforter was a plush, inviting cloud of white, with sky-blue pillows that added a touch of serenity.

That told me that the sheets would be of the finest quality.

Cool and smooth to the touch.

The headboard was actually carved in this ocean wave pattern.

A subtle scent of lavender filled the room, mingling with the fresh sea breeze that wafted in through the open windows.

The space was calming.

Like a comforting hug.

And the soft rustle of the curtains in the breeze served as the only sound.

So peaceful.

So perfect.

Lei guided me further into the room and I believed that his demeanor was softening. That deep frown disappeared from his face. He turned to me. “This is our sanctuary for today.”

“Is it?”

“It is. We can escape it all. . .at least for a few hours.”

“It’s absolutely perfect.”

He pulled me into an embrace and any tension that I’d had in my body melted away.

In this heavenly space, all the worries and deceit were distant.

Insignificant.

The only thing that mattered was us, here and now.

Lei slipped his strong hand to the back of my head and placed his other arm firm around my waist, holding me against him as if I were the most precious treasure in the world.

Our bodies molded together in divine intimacy, blurring the lines where my body ended and his began.

He leaned in close, placing his mouth barely an inch from mine.

My body hummed with need.

As he studied me so close, his warm breath brushed against my skin. Then, slowly, he pressed his lips to mine, shifting us into a pleasureful kiss that wasn’t rushed or frenzied. It was a tender journey that spoke of all the pent-up longing and raw desire he’d been holding on to today.

Our wet tongues danced together.

I could taste the sweetness of honey and feel the warmth of lavender from his lips.
