“Of course.”

“Good.” But then he scowled, “However. . .”

I raised my eyebrows.

“Your being a Friend. . .it may cause more problems among the Syndicate.”

“Why?”

“I didn't want Banks's men around you. Why would you think that I would be professional with others?”

I rolled my eyes. “Lei, stop being crazy and possessive.”

“Let's hope that all these men in these supposed negotiations know their place.” He gestured to the window. “But that's the future, for now. . .let's just enjoy today's journey.”

I turned and gazed out the window, the scenery transformed into a stunning vista of majestic mountains and deep valleys, illuminated by the sun. The peaks of the mountains stood tall, while their sharp edges pointed towards the sky, cloaked in mist.

Below, the valleys stretched out like peaceful meadows, adorned with colorful wildflowers swaying in the breeze.

Lei disrupted my checking out the view. “Hmmm.”

I turned to him. “What?”

“I think I've waited long enough.”

“What do you mean?”

He undid his seatbelt. Then, he reached over and undid mine.

“Lei?” I chuckled. “What are you doing?”

“Come here.” With a fluid motion, Lei gently gripped my hips and lifted me up towards him.

Laughing, I rose off the seat at his hand's command. “What the hell?”

Seconds later, I found myself sitting on his lap.

His arms encircled me.

I looked into his eyes.

“I really thought about you the whole time.”

“And what did you think about?”

“Hmmm.” Lei pressed his body against mine, igniting a fiery passion within me.

Our lips met in a heated embrace, tongues intertwining.

Moans escaped our lips, mingling with the rhythm of the helicopter's blades slicing through the air.

Damn. He's driving me crazy.

Slowly, he traced the contours of my back, sending shivers down my spine.

The space around us faded into insignificance.

It was just Lei and me, soaring through the skies.
