“Morrison is a vet, served with Jussy’s ex.”
I pushed out my cheek with my tongue and nodded. “Okay. You got a current location on his ass?” I asked.
“Indeed, I fuckin’ do,” he said, and I nodded slowly.
“Alright. As soon as I put Jussy’s ass on a plane home—”
“You don’t even have to say it, bro. There’s a reckoning a coming and Karma thy name is the Kraken MC.”
I nodded and held out a hand and Atlas clapped his into it and pulled his shoulder into mine.
“How’s that thing with Mariposa?” I asked and Atlas grinned savagely.
“Hope and I are supposed to get started on that tomorrow, too – but I think Hope has it handled and maybe I can tag Lightning or one of the other boys in,” he said. “I’m your ride or die hetero life mate, buddy. I’m not letting you hare off alone on this thing. Anything I’m skipping right along beside you singin’somebody’s gonna get it, with a fuckin’ baseball bat.”
I nodded. “Can the business take the hit?” I asked.
He made a nonchalant face and gave a one-shouldered shrug.
“Travis ain’t going anywhere for at least a week, and wherever hedoesgo, I can find him. We can tie up some loose ends here with the business, or we can go straight for him. Either way it’s only going to take a few days out and back,” he said. “Doesn’t matter the order of operations, man. It’s all up to you.”
I nodded slowly and pasted a smile on my face that made Atlas turn around.
Faith stepped out onto the front steps and waved at us to come on.
“She good?” I asked.
“A nervous wreck, but beautiful. She’s going to be fine with a little encouragement,” Faith confided in us. We found her just inside the back door and in a beautiful royal purple bikini with a wrap she had tied in a high waisted fashion that was in blues, greens, and purples that matched the bikini to perfection.
Atlas let out a low whistle.
“I am impressed,” he called out and I followed him up with, “You took the words right out of my mouth!”
Jussy blushed and Hope and Charity stood by grinning.
“Damn, baby, you are fine,” I murmured and pulled her up against me. She leaned into me and I put my hand to her chin, bringing her to me for a kiss. She pulled back, cheeks flaming.
“We setting up out back?” I asked.
“Yeah, the usual spot the other side of the marina is fuckin’ packed with tourists,” Cutter said from the other side of the open slider, holding his phone to his ear but down and away from his mouth like he was on hold. I gave a nod.
“Better for us anyway,” I said.
“Why’s that?” Jussy asked.
“This section of the beach is private,” Atlas answered her. “For the private residences along this stretch.”
“We just hang over there because over there we can have fires, but we can move that way, later,” Hope declared with a shrug.
I shot a text off to my two daughters that we were hanging at the captain’s house and that if they were looking for me to come down this way.
“Alright,” I said, arm around my girl. “Let’s find you some sunscreen and a cold drink, shall we?”
She smiled at me bravely and nodded. “Let’s,” she agreed softly.

A while later, and after a game of ultimate frisbee with the rest of the boys, I went to collect Jussy from the knot of girls on their beach loungers, laughing and talking.
