Thomas gave an embarrassed chuckle. “You can have the bed. The pullout is fine for me.”
“Oh, no, please, you take the bed,” Luka said in between giggles.
“No,” Thomas said firmly. “I insist.”
“All right.” Luka wiped a tear from his eye. “I won’t fight you too hard. I’ve always wanted to sleep in a bed of roses.” Still snickering, he lifted his suitcase onto the bureau and zipped it open to hang up his suit for tomorrow.
“You brought your robe?” Thomas asked as Luka pulled it out.
“Well, of course I brought my robe. I don’t think you understand how much time I spend in this thing.” Luka placed it on the bed and gave it a fond pat.
“Hmm.” Thomas was trying not to smile.
“What?” He put his hands on his hips. “You wear your wolf cufflinks all the time.”
“Yes, I do.”
They stared at each other.
Fuck.“Shall we get dinner?”
Sabrina had made them a dinner reservation at the hotel restaurant as well. It was busy, but quiet and dim, and they were seated in a booth tucked away by the bar.
They were studying their menus when two men in tuxedos appeared next to their table.
“For the happy couple,” one announced, handing them each a rose, while the other started playingCan’t Help Falling in Loveon a violin. “On behalf of the Elander Foothills Resort, we wish you all the best as you begin your new life together.” Before Luka or Thomas could even make a sound, he began to sing along.
Luka threw a panicked glance at Thomas. His face was frozen in a mask of alarm and incredulity. Luka realized he’d better look elsewhere or he’d lose it. He forced down the laugh that wanted to bust out of him and studied the violin.Hmm, that’s a Maestro Stradi, I think, very nice, great tone…He kept his lips pressed together, studiously ignoring Thomas.
When the musicians finished their performance, Luka and Thomas applauded, smiled and nodded, along with the people seated around them until the men left. They looked at each other with wide eyes. Then it burst out of them, and they pressed hands to their mouths, hunched over the table, shoulders shaking.
“Oh my God,” Luka gasped. “This is the best honeymoon ever.”
Thomas laughed, pushing a stray hair back off his forehead. “Definitely the best one I’ve had.” He straightened the rose lying next to his plate.
Dinner was delectable. Thomas ordered the prime rib, and Luka went with the roasted duck.
“This is unbelievable, Thomas. You need to try it.” Luka held out a bite on his fork.
Thomas lifted an eyebrow at him in a look that said ‘Really?’
Luka grinned and shrugged. Why stop now?
Thomas leaned over, tongue flashing pink as he put his lips over Luka’s fork. He held them there a second, then pulled back, all without breaking eye contact. “Mmmm,” he purred, a low rumble in his chest. “Delicious.”
Luka’s mouth dried out as his heart slammed into his ribcage.Fuck.His dick twitched at the sudden flow of blood. “Right?” His voice cracked.
“You have to try mine, too.” Thomas held out his fork in turn. Luka opened his mouth and let Thomas slide his fork in. The juicy slice of beef nearly fell apart on his tongue.
“Incredible,” Luka said, licking his lips. “So tender.”
“Mmm.” Thomas’ foot bumped against his under the table, where it stayed for the rest of the meal. Luka felt hotter and hotter under Thomas’ gaze. By the end of the meal he’d removed his blazer and undone two more buttons on his shirt.
In the elevator on their way back to their room, Luka leaned against the wall and brought his rose to his nose, inhaling deeply. He realized he was hummingCan’t Help Falling in Love.
Thomas chuckled and shook his head. “Enjoying the honeymoon?”
“Well…” He batted his eyelashes at Thomas “…it could be better…” He hoped it came across like a joke. Although, he wasn’t sure if he was actually joking.
