“Yeah, I thought you’d like to listen to it instead of read it. Like we did yesterday afternoon.”
Yesterday afternoon’s session had the bonus of an orgasm. No matter how good the professional narration was, I didn’t think I’d get off from it. Still, it was nice. Thoughtful. Very Niall-like. “Thank you.” I leaned over and kissed his lips, just a peck, really. I wanted to linger for more.
“You’re welcome.” He licked his lips. “Let me know when you’re ready for the second one.” His shiny lips twisted up into a flirty smile.
Warmth bloomed between my legs. Now now now,my body chanted.
“Okay.” My voice was too high and breathy. I cleared my throat. “Sorry I was weird earlier. The tour is getting to me, I guess.”
He took a deep breath. Let it out. “I don’t suppose you’ve given any more thought to coming home with me?”
Thought? I had lots of thoughts about it. Most of them wereDangerandDon’t be an idiot. But he’d made it sound like nirvana, free from pressure and crowds. Beyond wifi, where I wouldn’t have to answer Heidi’s and Dr. Martell’s irritating reminders about the NDA and about the Tower Prize being the endgame to this whole charade.
“Platonic, right? We’ll just hang out and you’ll show me the famous farmboy workout you talked up with Brandi?”
“Platonic. And you’ll be doing it, too. Everybody works on a farm.”
“I’m not scared of work.” Sore muscles might get my mind off everything else.
No. I didn’t belong on Niall’s farm, platonic invitation or not. With the lies I’d told, I didn’t deserve to be his friend. Still, I couldn’t stop the words from tumbling out of my mouth. “Okay, then. I’ll go.”
Niall’s smile was better than anything he’d given Brandi during that interview.
