Blake was careful, fucking me with short, controlled strokes instead of his usual wild, needy ones, but he was almost there, muttering my name interspersed between deep, breathless groans.
I rode Riordan until my thighs shook from the effort, until the pain was a far-off memory and pleasure was all I knew and I wanted more. More teeth, more fingers, more skin and insatiable, devouring lips. Crushed between their two hard, muscled bodies, I was mindless and squirming, breathless for this wave to break but wanting this to never ever end.
My skin tightened at the thought, my orgasm surging through me with such force, the crash left oblivion in its wake. My pussy clenched around Riordan’s cock, pulsing as if I could stretch out this mind-blowing pleasure through sheer will alone. Riordan kept rubbing my clit, never stopping as I moaned out their names, “Rohr, Blake, Rohr,” the entire world disappearing beneath my roaring climax.
This was a perfect moment, brimming with delicious fullness, filled with such a feeling ofbelongingthat my heart squeezed tight, never wanting this to end. Too many emotions crested, then spilled over, tears prickling at my eyelids, my chest caving in as I disintegrated, the only thing tethering me to this world were the two males who held my heart in their hands.
Like some dark beast, power breached the surface of that magical pool at the very center of my being, sending ripples cascading outwards, my blood hammering right along with it as I drowned in darkness and pleasure and an ecstasy deeper than any I’d ever experienced.
Blake went still, his cock pulsing at the same time Riordan’s eyes squeezed shut, his powerful body arching up off the bed, hands gripping my thighs as he spilled into me, the pulse raging at the base of his throat as he shouted my name.
Magic ignited in the air around us, a mix of dark fire and white, shadows and flame, a tempest of power strong enough to distort the air, shake the walls, louder even than Blake’s roar as he came and came, groaning out my name as the room whirled around us.
They filled me up—my king and my mate—pumped me full and there was something so erotic about that I went over the edge again, faster and harder this time, plummeting down and down until I crashed and splintered into pieces. Until we lay tangled together in a twist of warm flesh, and I didn’t know where I ended and they began and darkness came to claim me, swift and unforgiving and endless.
I floated in a sea of shadow, flecked with rivulets of white energy, edged with red, something boiling over inside me, like a wellspring that had been released, spilling more and more darkness out, until I was choking.
I came to, curled on Riordan’s chest, wetness slicking the insides of my thighs where we were joined, Blake running a warm washcloth down my back. “Roll over, my love, and I’ll clean you up. Then you can sleep for a few hours.”
I blinked up at him, surrounded by a flurry of shifting black flames and what looked like white, glowing embers.
“It’s…” Blake dragged his hand through the shadows, and those embers swirled around his head like lightning bugs. “Our magic, we think. Somehow, our powers fused together.”
“I’m not sure how this happened,” Rohr murmured. All those glowing embers…they were coming from him. “Somehow, we all got a power boost. Not that I’m complaining.”
Since I could barely raise my head, Riordan gently lifted me and set me on my side, pressing a kiss to my cheek before helping Blake wipe me up. They tucked me under the covers, then started gathering up their clothes.
“You’re leaving?” I was dazed, full of a staggering power that shoved at my skin, straining to get free. “Where are you going?”
“I have to check with Nash on his arrangements for infiltrating the compound,” Riordan explained softly, buttoning up his pants. “You should sleep. It will likely be a few hours before we head out.”
“I’ll go talk to Fiona about this,” Blake added, dragging his hand through the star flecked air, his darkness wrapping around us like a blanket. “We’ll be back,” he said somberly, “but we need to get some answers.”
The entire room smelled like spent magic, the reek of ozone overpowering and I didn’t know why, but I was scared. For the first time, I was scared we would lose. That I could losethem.
That every time something good happened to us, it was only followed by something terrible.
As if he’d heard my thoughts, Blake’s kiss grew gentler, his thumb brushing my cheek, and I looked at him through a haze of tears and pleasure, his features outlined in darkness and shadow.
“Go to sleep, Evie.” His fingers traced over my forehead and my eyes fluttered closed. “The war will still be waiting for us when you wake.”

EVANGELINE
Apale dawn filtered through the thick, leaded glass windows, casting a pink glow across the wooden floor of Blake’s bedroom. My entire body hummed with newfound power, like an electric current was running beneath my skin.
And I wasn’t the only one. Shadows flickered beneath Blake’s skin like dark ghosts chasing the light. And Riordan…he seemed to glow, light suffusing the space around him, kissing my body with warmth.
Last night had changed everything.
The joining of our powers, the way we had connected on every level.
Blake and Riordan's magic were so tightly intertwined with my own, I couldn’t tell where mine ended and theirs began. The air was so saturated from last night’s bonding, power still sparkled in the sunlight, catching glints of the rising sun like diamonds.
They’d come back to bed at some point, my legs tangled with theirs, Riordan’s arm thrown over my stomach, nestled in a warm cocoon of velvet soft skin and soft blankets. Whatever had happened to our magic had done something to me as well.
My flames no longer felt so volatile, so out of control.
