I know that feeling.
I’ve seen it in women before.
She looks at me, a faint smile lining her lips.
“It’s not that. I like you,” she murmurs, shifting her gaze back to the road.
“You know nothing about me, Rain.”
My eyes are trained on her delicate profile and full lips.
“I know enough.”
A flirty smile curves her lips before I move my eyes over her body again.
“You know nothing, baby…” I say, her gaze coming back to me.
“That’s why I want to find out,” she comments, more confident this time.
Laughing, I pin my eyes on the scenery.
Darkness sprawls out in front of us as far as I can see.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” I murmur, sunk in thought.
Soon after, we reach a crossroads and come to a complete stop.
“Now step on it,” I say.
She seems uncertain.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Aren’t you afraid?”
“Would you be in the driver’s seat if I were?”
Smiling, she turns her eyes back to the road, holds her foot on the brake pedal, and slowly gives it power until the wheels start spinning, screeching, and propelling the car forward.
“That’s more likely,” I say, smiling to myself.
Stretching my legs, I relax in my seat and observe her.
The wind blows in her hair, a smile glinting in her eyes while she experiences a rush.
She keeps her gaze on the road, hitting the turns just right, flying through them without the slightest hesitation.
She likes speed, power, and control as much as I do, and that’s hardly a surprise.
For a few more moments, I only take in her beautiful face.
She’s different than the other women.
I’ve had all kinds, all pleasing to the eye.
Young and older. Doing their best to charm me and make me focus on them.
