Unable to get any air into my body, I can feel the dark spots in the corner of my vision get larger, coaxing me back into the abyss, away from everything and so I go willingly again, not ready to face any of this.

Coming to again, low murmurs fill the room I’m in. Dad’s voice rises above the others, startling me as he shouts about something and makes me jump.

“Hey Sunshine, are you with us now?” Sebastian's voice sounds from next to me, his tone soothing as he strokes his hand over my hand.

“Y-Yeah,” I croak out, keeping my eyes shut, not being able to face them yet.

“You want to open your eyes and let everyone know you are ok? Some of us are freaking out without you babe,” he asks me.

“I will have you know that I have not been freaking out,” Dominic’s voice protests from across the room “In fact, I have been perfectly fine.”

“Mmhmm, sure you have,” Sebastian retorts, a snicker in his voice.

Deciding that I need to face this sooner rather than later, I force my eyes to open and then force myself to look at everyone.

No hiding anymore.

“Hi,” I croak again, in desperate need of water.

“Here you go, Princess,” Zander appears at my bedside a moment later, a cold glass of water in his hand, with a straw.

“Thank you,” I tell him after I down the whole glass, the cool water soothing my throat.

“How are you feeling sweetheart?” Doc asks me as he checks me over.

“Sore, tired, and fucking stupid.”

“Well, the first two can be expected, I don’t have anything for the third option though I’m afraid,”he replies with a small smirk, making me chuckle.

“Maybe being honest and letting us know why might help,” Atlas grumbles from the wall at the end of the room, his eyes are hard, and his muscular arms are crossed over his chest.

Holding my hand out to him, I beckon him over, my eyes pleading. Slowly he pushes off the wall, making his way over to my side. I can see the slight tremble in his hands as he reaches out to take my hand in his, the unshed tears glistening in his eyes.

“I’m here Atty.”

“You nearly weren’t. We nearly lost you; we did lose you. Do you not understand that there is no life for me without you in it? That I would follow you wherever you may go, because to be in a world without you Pumpkin, is not a world I want to be in. It would be dark and miserable, and I would burn it all to the ground if it meant I could bring you back from death for even a moment.”

“But I am here. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen, for it to go this far, I swear.”

“Why did this happen, Autumn? Why did you do this to yourself?”

“I…” Before I can answer, my phone’s message tone starts to ding repeatedly from somewhere in the room. Sebastian passes me it, and it continues to go off.

“It’s probably Ellie, she’s been worried sick,” Atlas tells me. Nodding my agreement, I unlock my phone, and nearly drop it again when I see who it is.
