The gates open with a light squeak and I make my way back up to the house. I step out of my car and all I can hear is Sal yelling. “Where is he? Where the fuck is Viper?!”

What the fuck is going on?Things are getting weird. Sal is becoming more and more paranoid.

Atlas slips out through the big double doors and freezes when he sees me. “Dude, Sal is fucking losing his mind in there!” The sound of a vase smashing on the tiles has us both snapping our heads in the direction of the sound. “Give it two minutes, he is rampaging his way back to his office. You’ll be able to get to your room safely then.”

I give Atlas a nod before he disappears down the driveway. It looks like he is going for a jog. The screech of the front gates opening is a sign that he has just left the place, getting away from the chaos going down inside.

Standing at the doors, I somehow manage to hear the office door slam shut, which allows me to try and get back up to my room. It is going to be rough if Sal catches me after what I have just planned. The guys that witnessed Sal’s earlier outburst watch me as I slowly make my way into the foyer. Hopefully, that means he is still in his office.

I have made it up to the top of the stairs and am about to walk down to my room when the office door below me opens and angry footsteps make their way down the hall. “Viper!” Sal yells from the base of the stairs. I freeze, waiting for him to move further. He stays in place.

Turning to face him, I fold my arms across my chest. “Yes boss?”

“Where the fuck is she?” he spits.

“Where is who?” I am in a ‘poke the bear’ kind of mood. After everything he has done to Viv, I’m not giving into him that easily now.

“You know damn well who I am talking about.” He starts making his way up the stairs towards me. “She isn’t in her room and you were the last person seen with her. Now where the fuck is she?”

“She is away from you.” I turn away, heading back to my room, but he grasps my arm before I can move a step further, turning me around to face him. He slaps me with an open palm across my right cheek, causing my head to whip to the side.

He pushes past me, making his way down to my room. My voice lowers to a growl. “If you even think about stepping foot into that room, you will regret it.”

He turns to face me. “What the fuck did you do with my daughter!” He is right in my face now but I’m not going to bite. He wants me to get angry but I’m not going to give him that satisfaction.

“She is safe” is my only response.

He waves a piece of paper in my face now. “Then why am I still getting threats from Rico?”

I raise a brow at him. That boy moves fast. He must have had that one locked and loaded.

“There are more?” I keep my tone calm.

“You better watch yourself boy! I know you had something to do with this.” Sal turns and storms off down the stairs. “Once I find out you had a part in this, I’ll – I’ll…”

“You’ll what?” I shrug. “There’s not a lot you can do to me, old man. I’m stronger and faster than you.”

He stands there for a moment, his face turning red. I stay at the top of the stairs and wait until he walks back down the hallway towards his office before I open the door to my room.

Stepping into my familiar darkness, the smell of Viv fills the room. A light glow from behind the curtains illuminates her sitting there on my bed, wrapped in my sheet. A tired yet curious look graces her face.

Well fuck me sideways. I thought she would still have been asleep. Come to think of it, I’m not surprised she is awake; her father has been yelling fairly loud. I’m certain they heard him in the next town over.

Chapter 21

Genevieve

Ifeel around the bed where Mason had been laying, the spot now cold. What time is it?I roll over, looking at the clock on the bedside table. Eleven in the morning. I release a sigh before rolling over onto my back and staring at the ceiling of his room. He must have left early. For what though, I am unsure.

Last night together was something else; it felt like we had made progress. Mason didn’t panic and, even though he was restrained for most of it, he still had full control. I always thought that I would never let anyone tell me what to do or control what I did, but he was different. I would let him guide me, tell me what to do and I know that he will never let anything bad happen to me at all.

Do I just lay here and wait for him to return or do I make my way down to my room? I am intoxicated by his scent. How could the smell of whiskey and leather be so alluring? It fills the room and the bed and I couldn’t breathe in enough. My eyes close as my thoughts run wild, thinking back to what happened last night. How he worshiped my body without even touching me. I run my hands down my body, brushing over my aching pussy.

I hear yelling coming from the other side of the door. “What the fuck did you do with my daughter!” My father.

“She is safe.” Mason’s voice echoes through the door, calming me from the sudden panic I feel hearing my father so close again.

“Then why am I getting more threatening letters from Rico?” My father is demanding and his voice has grown louder.
