Quietly, I climbed out of bed with a blanket wrapped around me as I snuck back to my room. I grabbed my clothes and hopped into the shower.

When I stepped out, I could hear Moose and the kids laughing downstairs. I smiled as I got dressed and ready for the day.

As soon as I walked down the stairs, both kids came running over to hug me. Nova grabbed my hand and dragged me into the kitchen.

“I made you breakfast!”

“You are such a sweetheart, Nova.”

She placed a plate down with eggs and added a muffin on the side. Moose walked over and kissed the top of my head, sitting down beside me.

“You sleep good?”

I laughed while I shook my head. “I slept great.”

Moose winked. “Good, baby. What are your plans for the day?”

“I’ve got some clients to see later today.”

My phone rang, and I got up and walked into the kitchen to answer it. Bambi’s name flashed across the screen as I pulled it out of my pocket.

“Hey, Bambi. What’s up?”

“Oh good, you’re up! That girl is back, and we need you here as soon as possible. I’m hoping you can reach her.”

I started the coffee machine and ran up the stairs, grabbing my shoes and purse while balancing the phone between my head and shoulder.

“Absolutely. I’ll grab my coffee and head out the door. Tell the women to leave her be, though. Cornering her will make it worse.”

“I’ll let them know. Thanks so much, girl.”

I hung up and ran back down the stairs, grabbing the coffee and adding a little sugar and cream to it.

Moose and the kids were right behind me as we headed out the door.

“New girl is at Hope Hearted. Bambi is hoping I can reach out to her and get her to stay at least the night.”

Moose nodded, “I’m sure you will, princess.”

I walked over to my car and opened the door when Moose’s large hand landed on it, closing the door.

I turned around, and he caged me in, leaning closer to me.

“Don’t think you’re leaving without a kiss goodbye, princess.”

I blushed as he leaned down and kissed me. It was sweet and caring and everything I never wanted, but with him; I wanted it all.

My hands landed on his chest as he nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck.

“Fuck, you make me so crazy, Lily. I want to just scoop you up and never let you leave my bed.”

I laughed. “One day, Moose. But today, we both have important things to take care of.”

Nova and Maddox came running over, ending that conversation between us. They both hugged me goodbye before getting into Moose’s truck.

Moose kissed me again. “Be safe today, baby. Call me, okay?”

I nodded. “I promise I will. See you tonight.”
