“You have no clue who the fuck I am. I am the furthest thing from vanilla.”

Moose laughed and swung his leg over his motorcycle.

“Princess, you could never handle a ride with me. Have fun with officer pencil dick tonight.”

He revved the engine and took off, leaving me coughing in a cloud of dust. I stormed over to my car and drove to my office.

Why the fuck was I getting upset over what that man thought of me?! He was my client and that was it. I would not get involved with him in any other way.

I parked my car and headed into my office. I still had other clients to take care of today and work that needed to be done.

Pressing the button on the coffee machine, I let that get to work while I set my office up for the day. I looked over at the empty desk at the front of the office and sighed.

I really needed a receptionist…

Grabbing the cup of coffee, I added cream and sugar and headed to my desk. First things first, I was going to put out an ad for a receptionist.

As I was finishing typing, the bell rang above the door and in walked my first client.

I smiled at the elderly woman as she sat in front of me. We went over all her paperwork and she left. I continued this for the next few hours until I looked up at the clock and saw it was already six o’clock.

Packing up, I headed back to my hotel to get ready for my night out with Bobby. I sighed as I hopped in the shower and thought about my earlier interaction with Moose.

Why do I keep picturing Moose at my door instead of Bobby…

Damn him for putting those thoughts in my head! I finished my shower and blew dry my hair and did my make-up.

I knew there was only one bar in this town, and Moose would most likely be there. For some reason that I couldn’t explain, I wanted to make Moose jealous and see me for more than just an uptight lawyer.

I put on a pair of black skinny jeans and threw on a tight white tank top. I added a few silver bracelets and a necklace as well. Searching around my room, I found my black booties just as there was a knock on my door.

Grabbing my leather jacket, I headed to the door. Bobby stood on the other side, looking very... boring.

I plastered a smile on my face as I grabbed my key. He had on jeans with a way too tight shirt and an old faded denim jacket that had a grey hood made of sweatshirt material.

Strike one. Denim on denim? Lord fucking help me…

“Wow, you look amazing!”

I smiled again as we headed to his car. He headed right to the driver's side without even opening the door for me.

Strike two, Bobby.

We made small talk as we headed to the bar. It all felt so forced and I already wanted to run back home and throw on a chick flick.

Bobby parked in the dirt parking lot, and we headed into the bar. The music was loud, and the bar was crowded as we pushed our way in.

We got to the bar, and I waved to Astrid as she made her way over to us.

“Hey, girl! Whatcha drinkin’ tonight?”

“Whiskey, neat.”

She winked at me, and I turned to see Bobby staring.

“Whiskey? I figured you would be a wine kinda gal.”

I shrugged.
