We happily ate with Sav and the other waitress, Gracie, keeping us company. They both had us laughing so hard. After we finished, we headed back to Lily’s office. She had some other clients to see, so I hung around the back area.

Lily had set the backroom up as a small living area. I relaxed on the couch with the small TV while she did it work up front. It was really the perfect set-up.

Pulling out my laptop, I got to work on the list of things Lily told me to do for my new business. My woman was fucking smart, so I listened to whatever she said to do with this shit.

Afewhourshadpassed when my phone rang. We were both getting ready to walk out and pick the kids up from school.

I looked down to see the school’s number scrolling across my screen.

“Hello?”

Lily and I hopped in the truck and headed toward the school.

“Hello, Mister Lavoie. We need you at the school as soon as possible. There was an incident…”

“What the fuck? Are my kids okay?”

“Sir. It’s best if you get here right away.”

My heart beat even faster as I sped toward the school. Lily looked at me and reached out to touch my arm. It felt like I was having tunnel vision and was doing everything possible to get to the school faster.

“Moose? What’s going on?”

“I don’t fucking know. Something is wrong.”

We pulled up to the school and all I could see was red. There were fire trucks, ambulances, police, everybody. I had barely parked the truck when I hopped out and ran toward the front doors.

Lily was right behind me as we got to the curb where Olivia was sitting, surrounded by EMTs. Lily got right down on her knees and pulled Olivia’s hands into hers.

“Shit, girl. Are you okay?”

Olivia shook her head as she looked up at me. “I’m so sorry. I tried my best, but they just wouldn’t stop…”

“Olivia…. what happened?” Tears rolled down her face as I roared out. “Where the fuck are my kids, Olivia!”

Lily stood up and put her hand on my arm, trying to calm me down. Olivia looked up and lost it.

“They took them! I fought as hard as I could! I’m so sorry... They took Beckett too. He saved me…”

Lily nodded while she took control of the situation. I collapsed onto the curb beside Olivia, my head in my hands as the tears came.

My fucking kids were gone. My entire life was just ripped away from me….

Lily kneeled down and grabbed my phone. “Focus. Call Striker right now. I’m getting Bambi on the line as well as Sav.”

She stood up and walked away, phone to her ear as I still just sat there. I was fucking numb and just wanted to destroy everything around me.

Lily came back and kneeled in front of me. “Everybody is on their way. I know how hard this is, Jacob. But you gotta be strong. Your kids need you to be on your game and you can’t do that by sitting here.”

The roar of motorcycles came rumbling down the street and I looked up to see my entire fucking brotherhood driving up to the school, led by a police car.

Daisy got out of the car and ran over to us, my brothers’ right behind her. Savannah came barreling in front of the group, throwing herself into my arms.

We both sat there and cried as everybody rallied around us. I looked up to see Mav talking to Lily. She was all business right now, and I was so fucking grateful to my woman. I couldn’t even think yet here she was, fucking commanding the show.

Lily looked over at me and then back at Mav, nodding her head. She came walking back over to me and took my hand in hers, pulling me off the curb to stand.

Savannah went into Hawk’s arms as Lily led me back to the truck. She opened the passenger door and pushed me in, walking back around to the driver's side.
