“Fuck, princess! What happened? Are you hurt?”
Lily just shook her head as I scooped her up and ran inside, Thor and Beckett at my back. I got her on the couch and Beckett brought over a glass of water.
“Baby... what’s going on? Where are you hurt?”
Beckett sat on one side of her while I kneeled in front. Thor stood behind me, watching.
“I... I don’t remember. I met with a new client and then it all kind of went fuzzy.”
Thor shook his head. “Do you remember locking up with me?”
“Yes. But like I said, it’s all kinda fuzzy. I thought maybe I just wasn’t feeling good. I pulled over to throw up and then it was all black. I woke up in an old, rundown barn. There were people there with masks on…”
I growled as I pulled her into me. “I’m so fucking sorry. Fuck, princess.”
Lily started to tear up, and I rubbed her back.
“They told me to leave. That I needed to go home and never come back.”
“Fuck. I got a phone call like that too. I’m gonna find out who fucking did this to you. How did you get home?”
Lily shivered. “I…. I woke up in my car and drove straight here.”
I pulled her down onto the floor with me and we sat while Thor and Beckett walked into the kitchen.
Lily sat up and wiped her lone tear. “Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Yeah. I need to get up. I’m okay, Moose.”
I shook my head and pulled her back into my lap as she tried to get up.
“Nope. You’re staying here with me.”
Lily laughed as she pulled away.
“It’s not my first kidnapping, Moose. I need to get up and move. Sitting in my emotions too long... I just can’t.”
I nodded and got up, walking into the kitchen with her. Thor and Beckett pulled her into a hug.
Beckett held her a little longer and looked down at her. “You good, Lil?”
“I am. I will be. Why don’t you go home and get some rest.” She turned to me, “Did you let Striker know all is good?”
Thor stepped up. “I did already. Listen, Lily. I’m so fucking sorry…”
Lily shook her head. “It’s not your fault. Shit happens. If somebody wants to kidnap me, they’re gonna do it no matter what.”
I ran my hand through my hair. “Fuck, princess. Don’t say that.”
She shrugged as she grabbed a glass and poured some red wine into it.
“I’m not some fragile damsel in distress. I handle my shit. You forget where I come from, Moose.”
“I never said that. But I never want anybody to hurt you, baby.”
Lily smiled and walked toward me, placing her hand on my chest. She stood on her tippy toes and gently kissed my lips.
