Closing my eyes, I pushed everything out of my mind and tried to get a decent amount of sleep before tomorrow.

Laughterandfootstepswokeme, and I slowly looked around.

Ahhh, that’s right. I was in Moose’s house. And you two definitely kissed last night…

I scrubbed my eyes and pulled the blankets aside to get out of bed. Grabbing a sweatshirt, I threw it on and cracked the door open.

Moose went flying by me, chasing the kids, as they all laughed. He scooped them both under his arms as he flew down the steps.

I smiled and waited a few minutes before heading down the steps. They were all standing around the kitchen, making breakfast together as music played in the background.

Nova grabbed Moose’s hand and he spun her around the kitchen. They were so happy with their life... and I had no part of it.

I had no place in this family... or any family. Sighing, I walked back up the steps toward my room. As I opened my door, a sturdy pair of hands grabbed my hips.

Moose put one hand on the wall while keeping the other on my hip.

“Where you going?”

“Oh, I was just going to get some work done.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Sure. Well, work can wait. Come, eat first, then you can work all day.”

I shook my head. “No, it’s okay. Really.”

Moose placed both his hands beside my head, caging me as he moved closer to me. Flutters moved around in my stomach as his eyes bore into me.

“Is this because of last night? Because I’m gonna be fucking honest, princess. I don’t regret a single second. I’ve thought about it all night. You taste so fucking sweet and I plan to taste you some more.”

My breath hitched in my throat as he leaned in and kissed just below my ear.

“I’m not even close to being done tasting you.” He tugged my ponytail and winked at me. “Breakfast is ready, let’s go.”

Moose walked back down the stairs, and I slid down to the floor.

Holy motherfucking shit.

I took a few deep breaths before walking to the bathroom to throw some cold water on my face. Moose had barely touched me, and I was a hot mess. That man was destroying every wall I had built.

I walked down the steps and into the kitchen. Nova smiled when she saw me.

“Miss Lily! Daddy is making pancakes. Wanna come color with me?”

A huge grin spread across my face. “I would love too!”

I sat down next to her and she passed me some paper. Grabbing some crayons, I colored with her.

Maddox and Moose soon finished with breakfast and we all sat at the kitchen table. Breakfast was loud, but it felt so good to be around them.

I knew this wouldn’t last, but for right now, I was going to enjoy every minute. We finished up, and the kids ran upstairs to get dressed. I helped Moose clean everything up when he turned to look at me as I took my sweatshirt off.

I was only wearing a white tank underneath and could see his eyes scan down my body. I shivered under his stare before a slow grin spread across his face.

“So what’s a typical Saturday look for you, princess?”

I laughed as I loaded the dishwasher. “Work. Honestly, that’s all I do. And online shop.”

Moose shook his head, but smiled. “Well, I can’t help you with either of those.”
