I shook my head and leaned back in the chair.

“I fucking know.”

Striker chuckled, then dropped his feet off the desk.

“Alright, show me what you got on her.”

I took a small thumb drive out of my pocket and tossed it to him. He plugged it into his laptop and turned the screen so we both could see.

Striker read through everything I had, then turned to me.

“Well, fucking shit. Little miss prim and proper has quite the past, huh?”

I nodded. “Yeah and I threw it all in her fucking face.”

“And she got upset.”

“Yup.”

Striker threw his feet up on the desk and laced his hands behind his head.

“Do you think any of this will come and bite her in the ass?”

“Nah. The only thing I’m worried about is her most recent ex. He called and gave her a hard time, begging her to come back.”

He laughed and eyed me. “Sounds like somebody is a little jealous.”

I grumbled and got up from the chair. “Fuck you, Pres.”

Striker laughed, “Awe come on, man.”

I walked out the door and threw up my middle finger.

“Fuck you.”

Walking down the hall, I made my way to my office and unlocked the door. It was time to do some digging on Lily’s ex and make sure he left her the fuck alone.

Ihadpickedthekids up from school earlier and now we were home eating dinner. Nova was just finishing up when my phone rang. I got up and moved to the living room to answer it.

Looking down, Lily’s name flashed across the screen.

“Hey, princess. What’s up?”

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t know who else to call…”

I could hear the fear in her voice.

“Lily, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?”

“No. There was a note on my door telling me to leave. And well, it was there with a knife right in the middle.”

I jumped up and waved to Maddox. “Alright, hang tight. I’ll be right there, okay?”

“I already called the police. You don’t have to come... I just. I don’t know. Fuck.”

“Princess, it’s okay. Don’t go inside and wait for the police. I’ll be there soon.”

I hung up and ran up the stairs. Maddox was right behind me.
