“Leave them for the night. Enjoy a night alone, Moose. I'll bring them to school in the morning and everything. You know I have extra everything here for them.”
Savannah had a huge smile on her face, and there was no way I could say no.
“Fine, fine. But no sugary breakfast treats.”
She laughed and walked over to them to place a blanket on top of my kids. Walking next to her, I leaned down and gave them both a kiss before turning to wrap Sav in my arms.
“You’re amazing, Sav. Thank you for everything you do for us.”
“I would do anything for you three. You’re my family.”
I kissed the top of her head before turning to Hawk. I patted him on the back.
“Seriously. You two mean more to me than you could ever imagine.”
Hawk just smiled. “Sav and I wouldn’t be here without you. You took us both under your wing and saved us.”
“I didn’t save you. Just led you to the right path, that’s all.”
Sav smiled and wrapped her arms around my waist.
“You saved me, and you saved Hawk. Deal with it.”
The three of us laughed, and I looked up to see Lily watching us. There was a sadness in her eyes that made me want to know more about her. More about that dark past she hid so well.
I said my last goodbyes to my kids, who were barely awake as they told me they loved me and hugged Sav goodbye again.
Lily and I walked out the door and toward her car. She leaned against her car and smiled up at me. Even in her heels, I towered over her.
“Sav and Hawk are really good with the kids.”
I smiled. “Yeah, they are. Nova and Maddox love them too.”
Moving closer to her, I could see the goosebumps spread across her arm.
“So why did you look so sad, princess?”
Lily moved away from me, giving me that telltale sign she was hiding something.
“It’s nothing. Long day, that’s all. I need to get home.”
I put my arms on either side of her head, caging her in against the car.
“Stop lying to me, Lily. I will find out what you’re hiding.” I leaned in and nipped at her earlobe, making her shiver. “You cold, princess?”
A slight moan left her lips before she put her walls back up.
“Yeah. I need to get home.”
Lily opened the car door, forcing me to move as she slid in and started it up. She gave me one last look before taking off into the night.
I ran my hands through my hair, frustrated that she once again got to me. I couldn’t keep my hands off of her and it was becoming a problem. As much as I wanted to take it slow, my mind was brought back to my conversation with Striker.
We needed to be careful because if Tessa ever found out, she would rake me over the coals and it might cause Lily to lose her job as well.
Lily was a beautiful woman, and I wanted to know what her wild side was like. I had seen glimpses and fuck; I wanted to know more.
As I got into my truck, dirty thoughts crossed my mind.
