I shook my head and placed the mug down.
“That’s very kind, but I’ll be fine.”
“Lily, just let me-”
I put my hand on his chest.
“No. Let me tell you again, I’m fine. Please leave, Bobby.”
He shook his head as he made his way to the door.
“It’s because of Moose, huh?”
I laughed. “Moose is my client. Nothing else. This is purely because you cannot take no for an answer. Thanks for tonight, but things won’t be going any further.”
Bobby whipped open the door and stormed outside. Sighing, I shut the door, making sure I double locked it behind me.
Kicking off my shoes, I stripped down and threw on my comfy yoga pants and tank top. I walked over to the kitchen and dumped the disgusting hot leaf water and poured myself a nice glass of wine instead.
Bobby didn’t even listen when I tried to tell him I didn’t like tea. He just barreled over me, just like every other fucking man in my life had done.
I fired up my laptop and turned on the tv, flipping through until some trashy reality show came on. Leaning back, I let myself get lost in another world of drama and online shopping.
Tonight had gone nowhere near planned, and I was feeling confused. Bobby was supposed to be my type; normal, steady job, suits and ties.
But here I was, thinking dirty things about Moose; my dark mystery man, who was slowly pulling me back to the darkness that I had worked so hard to get away from.
I was no longer that silly girl who went after ‘bad boys’. I was an educated woman who looked for financial stability in a man.
Yet as I laid in bed, all I could think about was how badly I wanted to live out my dirty dreams with Moose…
Chapter Four
Moose
ItwasSaturday, andlife was fucking good. We were having a little get together at my house; just me, the kids, Sav and Hawk. They were all I needed in my life.
I was firing up the grill when Sav and Hawk came over and sat in the large chairs. I looked over at Savannah, and she just smiled.
“How’s the house, Moose?”
I laughed and winked at her. “Dumb question, Sav. This house is more than we could ever want. I still don’t even know how to thank you.”
“Hurry and make those burgers and we’ll call it even.”
We all laughed as I flipped them and looked out into the yard, watching my kids enjoy being in a yard for once. We never had one of our own, so they were loving this oasis.
Hawk looked around before turning back to me.
“How’s things with Tess?”
I grumbled. “Fuck that cunt. She’s up to no goddamn good. I can fucking feel it. I swear to god if she hurts my kids I don’t think I can hold back.”
Sav nodded. “Let’s just let Luna have a go at her. That girl is itching for a fight and Tessa needs a good ass kicking.”
“As much as I would love to see that, I gotta do things the legal way. For the kids. I can’t afford to have them taken away. Fuck... that would just destroy me.”
Hawk took a sip of beer. “Good plan, brother. Speaking of legal things. How’s things going with Lily?”
