Javier and Lily slowly walked down the aisle as small tears fell from my eyes. I still couldn’t believe I was marrying this amazing woman.
The soft music matched her every step as Lily got closer to me. I couldn’t help but let another tear roll down my cheek.
Everything in my life had led me to this moment. All the heartbreak and destruction was worth seeing my beautiful woman walking down the aisle with my kids by my side and another one on the way.
Before I knew it, they were both standing in front of me. Javier pulled me into a hug and quietly whispered in my ear.
“You did it, homie. So fucking happy for you two.”
I smiled as he stepped back and did the same to Lily. It was unconventional and odd, but this was our life.
Lily wiped tears from her eyes as she stepped up and placed her hands in mine. Doc cleared his throat and looked at the two of us.
“Well, here I am again, marrying another beautiful couple. We all have come here to witness the marriage of Jacob Lavoie and Lilith Navarro.”
I smiled down at Lily as Doc used her full given name. We both had dark pasts, but we're bringing in a new light with our marriage.
“Today, we celebrate. We celebrate love, endless commitment, a blooming friendship, the melding of a family, and two people who found their true soul mates. We’re all here to share in this love; the great unifier of our universe. No matter who we are, where we’ve come from, what we believe, we all know this one thing: love is what we’re doing right. Moose and Lily have written their own vows. Lily.”
Savannah handed her a small paper and hugged her before Lily turned back to me.
“Moose. I didn’t fall in love with you. I jumped headfirst into this crazy life with my eyes wide open, ready for anything. I knew there would be heartbreak and pain, but I did it anyway. I pushed you away for so long, trying to deny the attraction. But nothing could have stopped my heart from falling for you. Our love was undeniable. So I stand here today, ready to take your name, blend with our family, and love you for the rest of my life. I will choose you in every lifetime I live. I will choose you in every world out there. I will always find you and choose you to live out my life with. I love you to the ends of the earth.”
Maddox proudly handed Lily the ring. She bent down and pulled him into a hug before standing and placing the ring on my finger.
I took a deep breath and took Lily’s hands into mine.
“You were the one thing I never saw coming. You lit up my life in the very best way, just by looking at me. When you first walked into my life, I knew I was about to hop on a wild ride with you. I tried to deny it, but deep down, I knew you were the one. You are my soulmate. The love of my life. The light at the end of my tunnel. I finally found my Old Lady and plan to keep you until the devil takes me home. I love every part of you; dark and light. There will never be a day that I won’t want you. Lily, you are the moon to my sun, the light to my dark, the other half of soul. I love you to the depths of the ocean.”
Maddox handed me the ring, and I gently placed it on her finger. Lily wiped tears from her eyes as Doc smiled down at us. Striker handed him the cords that had blessed every other couple in the club.
Doc carefully took the cords and turned to us. “Please hold your hands together as I place the cords on.”
Lily and I stood together as Doc placed each cord over our hands and added a new one to the collection; a blue and silver cord to match our wedding. Each cord represented one of the couples married under Doc.
“As your hands are bound together, now so are your lives and spirits. You are now joined in a union of trust and, most importantly, love. Above you are the stars and below you is the earth. Like the stars above, your love should light your souls. Like the earth below, your love should be a firm foundation to grow your marriage. I bind you together until the end of time.”
Doc looked at me and smiled. “Jacob. Do you take Lily to be your wife from now until forever?”
All I could was gaze down at my beautiful woman. “I do.”
Doc spoke, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of Lily.
“And Lily. Do you take Jacob to be your husband from now until forever?”
Lily smiled at me as she happily sighed. “I do.”
Doc put his hands in the air and smiled. “Then, by the power invested in me by the state of Montana, I lawfully pronounce you husband and wife!”
Everybody cheered as I leaned down and kissed Lily with everything I had. I could hear everybody around us cheering as I lifted her up and marched us down the aisle.
We were surrounded by everybody we loved. Life was fucking great, and now I had my wife in my arms.
Lily giggled as we made our way into the barn. The heaters were going at full speed despite the barn having its own heating system. I carefully placed Lily down as everybody came into the barn. Maddox and Nova came running over and took our hands in theirs.
We all moved over to a small table where a small tree was sitting next to a large pot. Everybody gathered around as Striker set up a microphone near Lily.
She smiled at everybody before turning to me, Maddox, and Nova.
