Willow shook her head. “Oh, he does too. I can’t wait to see this dumpster fire play out.”
Bambi laughed. “Maybe they’ll work out. Love is crazy.”
Moose placed a glass of water in front of me and looked at Delphina and Joker.
“Or maybe they’ll go down in flames. Either way, they can handle it.”
He put his hand out and helped me up, bringing me over to the kids who were dancing. Wrapping his arms around me, he leaned down in my ear and whispered.
“Did we do good for your birthday?”
“This is better than anything I’ve ever had. I’m so lucky to have you.”
He leaned down and softly kissed me as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“I love you, Moose.”
“I love you, Princess.”
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Moose
OneMonthLater,
I stood in one of the guest rooms at Lilah and Striker’s house as I fixed my tux in the mirror. It was dark blue with a silver tie. Delphina even let me wear my cut over the whole thing despite her telling me it didn’t match.
Today was the day I got to marry the woman of my dreams. I couldn’t wait to see Lily in her dress, walking down the aisle to me and taking my last name.
We had worked all day turning the barn into a wedding area. Heaters were placed everywhere to keep us warm on this wintry day. Everything sparkled in that barn with silvers, blues, and whites.
Lily was thrilled with what Delphina planned and that was all that mattered. Delphina was a miracle worker when it came to weddings. I still couldn’t believe she had pulled all of this together in a month.
Striker knocked on the door and smiled. “You ready?”
“Never been more ready in my life.”
We both walked down the stairs and out to the barn. Opening the doors, I was still so amazed at the transformation.
Striker tapped me on the arm and brought me out to the field. A white carpet with hints of silver and light blue snowflakes marked the aisle where a line of snow covered pine trees sat at the end with Doc standing in waiting.
Each row of chairs was marked with tall candles and pines, with hints of white flowers. There was a bucket of blankets and warmers for everybody to take during the ceremony. I walked down the aisle and stood next to Doc.
“You ready, my boy?”
“Absolutely.”
Everybody took their seats as Delphina turned on the music for everybody to walking down.
Lilah and Striker were first; dressed in a similar blue tux and a silver dress. Willow and Mav followed suit in the same outfits. Bambi and Goose came next, smiling as they took their places. Sav and Hawk came down next, love radiating in their eyes.
Finally, Maddox and Nova came down, both dressed in dark blues and silvers. Delphina smiled as she switched the music.
Everybody stood as Javier and Lily stepped out of the barn. Javier had felt bad that she didn’t have her father to walk her down the aisle and offered to do it. Lily jumped at the idea of melding her past with her present. I loved the idea as well.
Lily’s dress was stunning; it was a fitted long sleeved dress adorned with sparkling beading and crystals. She had paired it with a nude slip underneath and I could see the silver heels peaking out.
Her hair was softly curled, and she wore a small crown on top, giving her a princess feeling just like Delphina had planned.
