I smiled and floated up the porch to my room. Before I shut the door, Luna stopped it with her hand, a huge grin on her face.
“Girl. Tell me fucking everything!”
I laughed as she closed the door and flopped on my bed. I opened my closet and grabbed a red floral skirt and white tee-shirt.
“God, Luna. He’s amazing. We went to this fancy Italian restaurant, and the food was so good!”
I put the skirt and shirt, tying the shirt in a knot right above my waist. I found my white low top chucks and threw those on.
Luna laughed as I danced around the room. “You’re on cloud fucking nine, babe. I’m guessing the sex was out of this world?”
“Holy shit. It was amazing! And we did it this morning too. Oh my god, Luna.”
She threw her head back and laughed. “About time you got laid by a guy who knows how to please a woman.”
I laughed and quickly brushed my hair and swiped some mascara on. Luna stood and gently placed her hand on my shoulder. I turned and frowned.
“What’s wrong?”
“Just be careful, okay? I don’t wanna see you get hurt.”
I sighed and shook my head. “Don’t worry. He’s serious about us. Hawk is showing me a different side of him.”
“Okay... What are you guys doing?”
“Breakfast!”
She laughed and pushed me out the door. “Alright, you kids have fun and be safe!”
I kissed her cheek as I walked back out the door to a waiting Hawk. His smoldering blue eyes looked up and down my body, going over every inch.
I walked back to him, and he kissed me on the cheek. “Always fucking beautiful, Sav.”
We hopped back on the motorcycle and rode to a small cafe right outside of town. The small wrought-iron tables were nicely set out front. We found an empty table and sat, looking over the paper menus.
The waitress came by and took our order. Hawk sat back and smiled at me from across the table.
“What are your plans for the rest of the day?”
Shrugging, I sipped the glass of water in front of me. “Work later and then nothing.”
“Skip work and hang out with me.”
I laughed. “I can’t skip work and I’m actually looking forward to it.”
Hawk tilted his head. “Really?”
I nodded. “Yeah. I’m more than just a waitress there. Moose has let me slowly move into the kitchen and change some things on the menu.”
“That’s great. What did you want to do before Lloyd came into the picture?”
I cringed at that asshole's name. “I actually wanted to be a chef. I love to cook. It’s like all time stops and it’s just me and my tools.”
Hawk smiled at me and reached out for my hand. “Well, you’re a damn good cook, baby.”
The waitress came back with my pancakes and Hawk’s omelette. We both ate in a comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company as the world slowly woke up.
When we were finished, Hawk took me back to Hope Hearted to get ready for work. He quietly sat on the bed as I put on the mustard yellow uniform.
