“Time to go. You can come back tomorrow to see him.”
He gently took Savannah’s arm in his hand. I growled, and Sav shook her head and smiled.
“It’s fine. I’ll see you soon, Hawk. I love you.”
“I love you, baby.”
The officer led Savannah out and I sat on the steel bed. I trusted Lily to get me out and keep my woman safe while I was locked up.
I laid back and devised a plan to catch Eckhart and put him six feet under as well…
Chapter Twenty-Three
Lilyhaddrivenmeto the clubhouse after our visit with Hawk. She grabbed my hand and dragged me through the clubhouse until we got to an office.
She sat me down in the chair and turned to me. “Tell me everything that happened.”
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I looked up at her.
“It was me! Lloyd broke into my house...he was trying to drag me out the door. He told me if he couldn’t have me, nobody could. I knew it, Lily. I knew he was going to kill me. I wasn’t gonna die like that.”
Lily leaned against the desk and folded her arms across her chest.
“I need the details, Savannah. Break down the walls and tell me what happened so I can help Hawk.”
“Hawk had left a gun at my house. I grabbed it when I thought I heard something. Lloyd had knocked it out of my hand, but I was able to crawl to it. I shot him... twice. Watched him go down. It all feels like a dream... I don’t even remember calling Hawk.”
A knock on the door made us both look up and Moose came in. He sat next to me and held my hand. Lily sighed as she looked down at the both of us.
“You’re going to have to come out with this in court. We’ll be able to claim self defense, especially with the current case and the fact he violated the restraining order multiple times. We’ll just have to fight his father and prove it was you.”
Moose cleared his throat. “I can help with that. We had security cameras installed all over the building. So we can show Lloyd breaking in, Hawk coming after she ran outside, and most importantly, Eckhart also breaking in.”
Lily finally cracked a smile. “That’s fucking gold. Just what I want to hear. I want copies of those videos sent to me asap.”
A sickening feeling came over me and I jumped toward the trash can just as I vomited.
“I killed a man! Oh god.”
Moose got on his knees and held me as I cried.
“It’s okay, baby girl. You’ll learn to live with those demons. But just know he had it coming to him. If it wasn’t you, it would have been one of us. I would have rather done it, but just think; you got the last shot. You won.”
I started to shake and Moose lifted me up like I weighed nothing. He nodded toward Lily and she opened the door, following him up another set of steps.
He stopped at Hawk’s door, and Lily opened it. I was crying so hard I couldn’t breathe. Moose sat me on the bed and shoved my head between my legs.
“Breath, Savannah. You need to take some deep breaths.”
Lily sat on the bed next to me and rubbed my back as I tried to get myself together. When I finally could breathe, Moose pulled me into a hug.
“We’re gonna get through this, Sav. I promise. You have this entire family by your side, Okay?”
I nodded as Lily got up and fixed her skirt. “We’ll get them, don't worry and save Hawk. I’m gonna head back to the hotel and start the paperwork. We can’t get him out tonight, but I can sit my pretty ass in that station as soon as they open.”
Moose stood and looked at Lily. “I’ll take you. You’re defending us, and I have no doubt in my mind that Eckhart would try to hurt you. We’ve got guys watching him, but I would rather be safe than sorry.”
“Oh god! Where are your kids?”
