“You fuckers waiting for me or something?”
They both nodded. Moose grabbed the bottle of tequila from my hands.
“Sit. We need to talk.”
I tried to grab another bottle, but Moose was too quick for me. He grabbed me by the collar and dragged me to the couch.
“I get you miss her. But you’re going down a dangerous path, Hawk.”
I laid my head back and closed my eyes.
“I love her. I fucking love that woman with everything I got. But she doesn’t want me. I fucked up badly this time and I don’t know how to fix it. What else am I supposed to do?”
When I opened my eyes, the prospect was in front of me.
“I have a few ideas. First one is to stop drinking and calling her at two in the morning.”
I glared at him. “How the fuck do you know that?”
“Moose bugged her phone. I’m on Sav watch until we deem it’s safe.”
I went to grab him, but Moose moved in.
“He’s helping. Watching your woman while you drink yourself into a stupor. So fucking man up, Hawk.”
I turned to him and glared. “When were you gonna tell me Fran was showing her fucking ugly face around Sav?”
“Look, man.”
I held my hand up. “She said now we can be together. Me and Fran. What the fuck is going on?”
The Prospect was the one to talk.
“She showed up at the diner. Talking shit to Sav. Luna stepped up and tried to fight her. Well, actually she did. It was kinda hot. Anyway, she’s been around town giving Sav dirty looks. I stopped her the other day outside the diner. Savannah is really upset about it. The bitch just doesn’t know how to stop.”
All I could do was shake my head. “What am I gonna fucking do?”
The Prospect tapped my arm. “Let me help. Sav invited me in after that incident. She’s hurt, Hawk. Let me befriend her and plant good seeds about you in her head.”
I didn’t like the idea, but it was all I had.
“Fine. I don’t fucking like this idea. At all. Hands off my woman. Don’t even think about flirting with her or I will end you.”
“I know. I’ll give you updates every day. She just wants a friend. I mean, she’s got the other women, but they’re all pretty busy. Luna is working every night so she can’t be there right now.”
I nodded as I looked at Moose.
“I need her back. I fucking need her back. I love Savannah.”
Moose nodded his head and patted my shoulder.
“I know, man. No more drinking. Let’s get you to bed.”
I carefully stood as they led me upstairs and to my room. I laid down and tried to close my eyes hoping sweet dreams of Savannah would take me away from this dark time.
