I just shook my head.

“I don’t even know. One day I’m waking up in Hawk’s arms thinking everything is great, then a few hours later it all shattered. I don’t get it.”

“I really don’t think the drugs were his.”

I nodded. “I agree. Those seem planted... but the news stories can’t be. That really happened, Luna.”

The bell chimed and in walked a tall, beautiful redheaded woman. She looked around the diner before setting her sights on me.

With a slimy smile, she walked toward us.

“Savannah?”

I nodded.

“I’m Fran. I just wanted to let you know you shouldn’t waste your time on Hawk. He was seeing me the entire time behind your back.”

Tears pricked my eyes as she eerily smiled.

“I guess you just couldn’t keep him satisfied. I mean, he said you were plain, but I didn’t expect... this.”

She waved her hand up and down at my body. Luna got up and shoved the woman.

“What the fuck did you just say?”

Fran laughed. “Oh, come on. You can’t believe this little vanilla girl could meet all his needs. He’s always had a thing for redheads, anyway. Hawk and I have been seeing each other for a very long time. You’re not the first girl he’s tricked, sweetie.”

Luna launched from in front of me, tackling Fran to the ground.

Fists flew as Luna held the woman down, sending blood flying onto the diner floor. I just stood there and watched, too shocked to do anything.

Moose came running out and stopped at the sight of the two women on the floor.

“What the fuck is going on?”

He shook his head as he ran over and pulled Luna off Fran. He stood between the two and glared.

“What the fuck? What the fuck is going on right now?”

Fran threw her head back and laughed. “Fucking trash. You all are. I figured Savannah would run and hide. Fucking bitch.”

Luna tried to run at her, but Moose stopped her. “Who the fuck sent you? Come on, cunt! Fucking tell me before I kick your ass again!”

Fran glared at her, then turned to me. “I just thought I would come and warn the mousy little thing about Hawk and I. You’re nothing special to him, sweetheart. You will never compete with me.”

Luna broke free from Moose’s grips and put Fran into a headlock, taking her down on the floor again.

“You crazy fucking bitch!”

Luna just laughed as she punched her in the face. “You ain’t seen nothing yet. I don’t fight like a bitch.”

Moose just shook his head as he once again pulled Luna off of the woman.

“Enough! Get the fuck out of my diner! You are not welcome here, ever.”

Fran laughed and glared at me before she walked out the door.

“Just a friendly warning, and it won’t be the last.”
